Where is the Parking Brake switch located on 2006 Toyota Matrix?

The ignition switch is the what you put your key in. Technically speaking the Ignition Cylinder is what you put the key and the switch is the sensor connected to the cylinder the tells the module what position the key is in

There is no separate fuse. It runs off the parking lights.

check to see if the release of the parking brake actually engages the warning light switch fully.

I have toyota matrix 2009 basic and when I shift from drive to park mode the front wheel drive axle does not lock in with transmission gear in turn running away vehicle on uphill park if parking brake was not set firmly.Please help. I'm thinking there is some thing wrong with Park Pawl is not engage and not locking the gear.

If this vehicle has rear drum brakes then make sure the rear shoes are adjusted properly.If this vehicle has rear disc brakes then check for adjustment screw at park brake handle and adjust as required. MOE

If you have a handbrake,,,,, I believe that the adjstment is at the bottom of the lever. Also if you have Drum brakes on the rear, It is possible you are due for a brake job. Have it inspected.
