I just replaced the starter on my 2000 Bravada. No other problems before starter replacement. Can someone please tell me why, now, when I am hooking up the battery, the truck is trying to turn over...

Because the ignition switch wire (small purple wire) or connector is touching the hot post on the starter. So when you connect the battery it just like turning the ignition key to start the engine. Make sure all the wires on the starter are not touching each other.

Key won't come out of 2000 bravada

This is a floor shift? Have you noticed the transmission sticking in third? Do you feel you have the ability to take the shifter apart? It's a problem with the shift interlock solenoid. If the transmission is sticking in 3rd also it is a power supply to the solenoid from it ignition switch. If the transmission works fine I can tell you how to fix it or bypass it.

1997 Bravada Wont Start.

There is a solenoid that normally connects the two wires that you manually connected. They do go bad and if they are the replaceable typ an inexpensive fix.

Key will not go into lock position - and I cant remove it on 2000 Bravada. The trans works fine.. the car starts fine.. I just cannot move the key to the lock position and remove it. Any help for this one?

Make sure the car is completely in park. I have had to wiggle the steering wheel to make sure it engages in the locked position before it will let me remove the key. For some reason, the ignition doesn't recognize the vehicle is in park.

2000 Olds Bravada ignition

Okay .. had the EXACT same problem - word for word .. turns out, that my positive battery cable was corrodid badly.. the ignition switch wasnt getting any power or signal - so it didnt know the trans was in park, so it locked the key in place... and all power cut off obviously because no juice was going thru the cable.
Apparently however.. you will get almost the exact same symptoms if the ignition switch burns out... so first test the battery cables themselves.. if they are fine .. then plan on replacing the ignition switch.
