A bad coolant cap can be a problem, coolant gets hot and can "steam" out and not leave a trace at times. Some import caps can't be tested. I would replace that and start from there. Not only that but it shouldn't be to expensive.

Vw transporter 05 central locking not working cant open side or passenger doors at all can only open drivers door and boot manually with key

water ingress in wiring loom below drivers seat, mainly loss of power to pin 23 middle multi plug blue and red wire middle multi plug.

remove drivers seat/frame trace wire back to corroded connection and repair. you may also have to remove passenger seat depending on where the break is. dealer quotes upto 2 hrs

Have no indicators, hazards work,no fuses are blown, put meter across stalk terminals and all seems fine, but i cannot trace a live wire to stalk connections? This is for a vw transporter 1.9td 1998....

somewhere along your steering column behind the dash should be a module called the electronic flasher module. This unit controls your turn signals and works separate from your hazards. Odds are the unit has gone bad...

I have had exactly the same thing happen to me. In the end it was a faulty water pump which was allowing water into the engine.
