Question about 2001 Audi TT

Remotes, trunk lid, gas lid, interier lights and alarm dead.

2001 Audi TT 1.8 Liter front wheel drive - Remotes, trunk lid, gas lid, interier lights and the alarm system all quit at the same time. Worked yesterday when I parked it even used the remote to lock it, but this morning nothing.
I have checked every fuse in the car, they are good. Any ideas? I have checked the remotes and the batteries are good.

If you have a convertable, check for a leak at bottom of passanger side rear window. They put the ECU right under that rear window. If the ECU gets wet you will probably loose remote capability.

Have you checked the fuse panel for blown fuses? If not, check there first. If so, check to be sure all the wiring harnesses in and around the fuse panel are tight ans secure. If you're really in a pinch and you have rear folding seats you can crawl into the trunk that way.

Lots of rain, lots of things not working now

Is it a convertible? Mine has the same problem and the electronic control panel is located in under the rear window. I think moisture accumulates and short circuits the control panel. I am not a machanic but when it dries out it is fine.

THE BUTTON IN THE CONSOLE TO OPEN THE GAS CAP AND THE TRUNK WONT WORK AND I CANT PUT GAS INTO THE CAR!!!! IS THERE ANOTHER WAY TO OPEN THE GAS COVER AND THE TRUNK???

I can't promise it, but in my 99 A4 there is a release cable in the trunk. I have to pull the trunk carpeting away on the side where the gas filler door is, and there's a red cable there that can be used as a manual release. I imagine your TT has one as well - look in the hatch on the side with the gas door, and pull the lining back - you'll probably have a release cable as well.

2001 audi tt -- trunk release and gas cap release don't work

Hi, yes there is. To release the trunk - look on the centre console, just rearward of the front seats and you will notice a separate rectangular section in the plastic, if you lift this out you will find a cable release for the trunk underneath. To open the fuel filler cap manually, look inside the car just behind the rear light on the same side as the fuel filler and you will notice a flap in the interior trim, which is to allow access to the rear lamp. Open this and then looking towards the top you should see a loop of orange plastic - pull this towards the rear of the car to release the fuel filler.
Hope that helps Matt..

Try undoing the battery cables...waiting 5 min. and reconnecting them. See if that works.

Fuel cap and boot release buttons not working

Hello,
I have a 2001 Audi TT Audi TT roadster, 87,000 miles. I love the car, but like all cars, things happen.

Open your checkbook, It is the command module , under your back glass, where the top goes , you will see a small door cut into the felt. Mine got wet and started a whole chain of events.

Seal that Window Good. 800$ repair to replace the comman module.

1. Windows were going up and down 1/4" all random times.
2. The Gas Release and Trunk Release buttons stop working
3. Alarm would go off at odd times.
4. Trunk would not open automatically.

To open the Trunk, behind the passenger seat is a small box, open it with you key and you will see the manual trunk release

To open your gas cap, on the passenger side of the trunk, you will see a small felt opening under the gas cap. Open it and pull back decently hard and the gas cap will open.

Good Luck.
