Question about 2005 Toyota Matrix

1 Answer

I left my Matrix at a dealer for warranty repair (rust). When I get my car back, check engine indicator was on. I made dealer to read on coputer what is the problem and I received report: codes po138 and po606 (needs to replace 0'2 sensor and ECM) I wonder what could cause that problem and if it happend when my car was left for a repair, who should pay for this. Emmision warranty will not cover this becouse I had made over 90000 miles. Kris (matrix 2005)

Well Try to talk the service maneger into helping you, say it is funny that it just happed comming otout of the shop and toyota likes to keep good coustmer ratings ask then if they would just pull it and clen it for you and reset the computer they may do it. I know the Toyota dealer in MY local town and they have a good reputation for going the extra mile for their coustmers. When I have one brought in to me and I know it's in warrenty or just out by a short time I call em and if they say yes I send them the coustmer, and I get a good rep that way and so do they.

I have a 2005 toyota Corolla. The check engine light came on. I had it check and a code of P0741 came up. Do you know how much this cost to fix? The code P2716 also came up but this is covered under...

There is currently a recall going on for this problem. You can likely get your money back on the prior repairs as well. See this link http://www.toyota.com/recall/corolla-matrix.html. On the left-hand side, you can click to take you to put in your VIN and see if your vehicle is included. My 2007 vehicle IS included, and I just had the check engine light come on and have been experiencing rough shifting for about 6 months. When the light came on yesterday, it was extremely rough jerky shifting. The light went off today. Took it to Autozone and got same code P2716. Toyota has assigned me a case number, but I won't get a call back until Monday or by close of biz on Tuesday. This problem can cause your car to not start, or to shut down while driving. YIKES! The person I talked to at Toyota acted a little too nonchalant about the whole deal. Telling me to just wait for the call that I will get. She said most dealers would not have the part needed to fix this. According to what I have read. That is the reason why Toyota is not sending out the notification letters to the affected parties until mid-September. Check out all the info and good luck. I am a little bit p.o'd about this right now. - Natalie

P2716 pressure control solenoid d 2005 toyota corolla 117000 miles check engine light on

This is very common on Matrix/Corollas and is repairable by way of replacement PCM to correct invalid parameters. the labor is low but the part is very expensive.

Expect approximately $89 or less in labor, and $648 for the new PCM

Hello i have a code p2716 in toyota crolla 2006

THIS FIX IS COURTESY OF EXPERT TOYOTA ED, HE IS A TOYOTA DEALER SERIVCE MANAGER, THANKS ED!
There is a known issue with the 2005-2007 Corolla automatic transmission shift logic. The shift points may seem harsh, and the Check Engine light may be illuminated.

There is a
technical service bulletin published (TC015-07) that will address and rectify this condition.

The diagnostic code P2716 will be stored in the
computer memory. The procedure involves replacing the Engine Control Module (the computer) with an updated unit.

The repair is covered, under the factory warranty, for 96 months, or 80,000 miles, which ever comes first.

I hope that this helps you Corolla owners out

Pressure Control Solenoid D electrical fault (P2716)

There is a Bulletin on this concern, and it is a warrantable condition for 8 years or 80,000 miles so you are still covered by the factory warranty.
The problem is a logic issue in the PCM. The correction is a new PCM with updated software.

Service engine light on constantly. what to look for to fix

Ken,
You will want to take your car to your local Auto Zone or Advance auto and ask them to scan the car for trouble codes. They will do it for you at no charge and you will see what is causing the the service engine light to come on. You can write the codes down and respond back so we can start diagnosing.
Let me know what the codes are, good luck.

The malfunction light is indicating that the engine management in your Matrix has an issue and needs to be addressed. You can take it to the dealer and they can scan the cars computer for the DTC codes or you can go to Auto Zone and they can scan your car free of charge and explain to you what the issues your car has and what needs to be addressed to repairing the the issue. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help.
