Question about 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

1999 Grand Cherokee: Cut tube when installing body lift.

I was compressing the spring from my jeep when the compressor cut a tube behind my brakes. It is not the main brake line because the brakes are still compressed and fluid did not come out. I need to know what the tube might be.

Thanks.

Need to remove rear brake line on a 1999 Jeep WJ. Need a diagram to figure out how to remove the correct one since only one has a hole in it..

Removing brake line tubing & having a diagram
are unrelated

You simply use a small wrenches to loosen the fittings

Your going to need to buy tubing at the auto parts store,
cut, flair & bend, as necessary, to fabricate the rusted out
one your replacing, you can't buy ready made tubing, even
for a new car

I have a 1999 grand jeep it cut off when im

I just had this problem on my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Once the engine got warm, after about 15 to 20 minutes, the car would just die at random times, sometimes when doing 40 mph and sometimes at idle.

I ended up changing the Crankshaft Position Sensor and it cleared the issue.

Instaling lift spacers on a 96 cherokee, front springs

I put these on my jeep and I had bought a set of spring compressors for doing struts on cars for around $40. Used them to compress the springs untill I could remove them and slid the spacers on and reinstalled the springs.

Replace the rear wheel bearing

better check a manual, The ones I have done do not have c-clips in the diff. You remove 4 nuts behind the brake backing plate, then use a slide hammer to pull out the axle shafts. Then the bearing retainer must be removed (cut or drill into it, the crack it with a hammer blow from a chisel), it should slide off the axle. Then use a bearing splitter and a press to remove the bearing. To install use a long pipe and press to install the new bearing and retainer. Change the seal while your in there. Hope this helps.

1994 Jeep Grand cherokee rear lift gate

Well My 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee had the same problem and we had to just cut into the lift gate panel from the inside. It required cutting plastic but with a 94 looks arent everything and a working lift gate was worth it. But then we pealed back this black plastic mat under the panel and lifted up on the release bar(verticle bar that lifts the latch) and once we got it open we adjusted a little clamp that had slipped. Dont adjust it too much or when u lock it it wont lock! But sorry i dont know the name of the parts. But then u can screw the panel back in and it wont look to bad besides some cuts.
