Question about 2008 Jeep Wrangler
Starter only clicks, won't start, but lights and dash are fine- doesn't dim. Dealer replaced the starter but still has the same problem. Seems to be intermitant. Clicks from 1 to 20 times then starts with full power. noticed many post of simular problem but no solution. All connections checked as well as battery.
I kind of wonder about those security gadgets but there is a starter lockout in the gearshift assembly. The neutral start switch and keyswitch are linked by a rod in the steering column. If the solenoid clicks it is suppose to mean everything is lined up. Then it would mean a BAD solenoid is not connecting the starter after the click.
But the neutral start has other terminals that are moved internally. If you do not get it fixed this trip and it does this again, try starting in neutral instead of P. Good Luck
