How do i replace bulbs on 2007 pontiac g6 headlights

most modern cars have have a knob you turn on the back of the headlight under the hood. The small bulb is replaced and not the whole lens in front. You unscrew then knob with all the wires going into the back of the headlight, usually about a quarter turn and then just pull it back.

All lights work except rear lights for driving at night, what happend two days earlier i went to turn on headlights an pulled the whole knob outta the dash an just stuck it back in, got the headlights on...

I can't see the switch causing the rear lights to fail without affecting the headlights also. Is it possible that the only headlights you got to work at the time are the daylight headlights - for visibility during the daytime? the breaklights work so you've not got faulty lights. Also the fact that both left and right brake lights work points to the switch as being the culprit. Is it possible that when you reinstalled the knob it's just not placed on there correctly? That would prevent the switch from possibly operating correctly. Check your turn signals. If they both work that should instill confidence that the switch is the culprit. If you're brave (I don't know your level of "handymanness") you could pull the switch knob off again and this time look very closely at the knob and the post it slides onto. Most knobs (I believe yours should twist, not pull, but I'm not sure as you don't list the model) press onto a post that is "D" shaped. The knob has a corresponding recessed hole that is also shaped like a "D" Assuming (yeah, it makes an xss out of you and me...) that you placed the knob correctly the first time is it possible that the dash cutout is limiting the switch movement? This would only occur if the knob wasn't placed correctly. I'm not sure again because you don't list the model. If all else fails then replace the switch - available at most all auto parts stores. Good luck!

First you have to turn the headlight switch all the way to the right. This will turn on your headlights. Then pull the switch outward towards you. Your driving lights should be on now. They only work with the headlights on.

1985 transam, lights don't come on anymore

if this has the pullout knob you will most likely have to replace the knob.
this is done by firmly pulling on it till it comes free from the dashboard.the switch will have a piece of metal out fromt he back of the knob, this has a few small grooves on it. You may find a replacement at any parts store. most are generic for the make of cars. ie GM or Ford .....
Please try this before you try to rewire your headlights as this happened to me many time with vehicles I had in my teens. even though tails lights worked the headlights did not work for me either. gotta love the older vehicles they made ya think about what was wrong with them . now they just get replaced.
best of luck with your Trans Am

Yes! There is a switch in the dash your knobs goes into. it is bad if you have to hold it out to make contact. remove the dash and you will see the switch.

Good luck,
