SOURCE: nissan clutch problem

If your not able to shift into any gear that means your clutch is not engage/disengaging. Check for fluid leaks, you said topped off and fluid levels were low? It sounds like you have a Slave cylinder or master cylinder leak, if its leaking its bet to replace both.

A160 goes into gear but can only drive on idle

Start with checking fluid levels. Technically your car has a torque converter not the standard clutch as in a manual. Complete loss of power is usually the result of a breakage in the stator clutch. This said if your fluids are low then the auto will not go - serious damage to transmissions are likely if you run low fluids or the wrong fluids in them

My honda civic clutch is spongey but brake fluid is full

The clutch master cylinder could have failed, or you may have a problem with the clutch disk. A mechanic would check the operation of the slave cylinder in the flywheel housing.

I have a 02 Saturn and my clutch is giving me some problems..when the car is on the clutch pedal won't allow me to engage in any gears, but when turned off it allows me to shift no problem. Checked all the...

You have one of these two things going on....Either the clutch master cylinder is internally bypassing or the clutch itself has gone bad. If you can pump the clutch and sometimes be able to shift, the master is bad. If the clutch pedal feels normal, then I'd suspect the actual clutch disc is worn out.
Your clutch has little to do with shifting with the engine off as nothing is turning and engaging the gears is not a problem. Have an experienced tech take a look at it if in doubt ...should take all of five minutes to determine what's wrong.

I he a izuzu pick up 1990 and i have problem with my clutch...hard to get the manual shifts.... do i need any fluids....

mcdevito75 here, Even a manual tranny has thick grease inside to lubricate the gears, also your clutch needs periodic adjustment, have it checked at your local shop.

Im having trouble shifting gears in my 2001 mitsubishi . had the gear box fluids checked and its fine. ******* down gear is hardest. it acts as if it wants to stick.

Get your clutch checked, if you don't have a good functional clutch it makes shifting very hard and in long term will damage your gearbox.

My gear shift is so stiff have checked fluids they are fine, yet I am finding it really difficult to shift gears can you help

If the gear shift is still hard to shift with the motor off, you need to look at the linkage, or internal shift forks. If it is only hard with the vehicle running, I would suspect the clutch or pressure plate not disengaging properly. You may be able to try a fluid change if it hasn't been serviced for a while.

Gear shift moves like butter and will not catch in any gear

you should check to ensure that all fluids are at the appropriate levels first.
failing that you may require a clutch replacement...there could also be small leaks causing the gears not to engage, this is assuming it's a manual transmission.

Manual transmission at times has trouble shifting

2003 hyundai, should only have hyundai approved fluids in both the cooling system and transmission. If you take your vehicle to a transmission shop other that hyundai let them now there is a special fluid that goes back into the either radiator or transmission. Regular transmission fluids viscosity is to thick and will make shifting very hard. My Mazda has the same issues Wrong fluids go back into the transmission when I have had work done to it making the shifter hard to shift in cold weather. A Worn clutch can have the same effect.
