The sensor for coolant temp. will be located in the thermostat housing or intake manifold close to the thermostat housing. It will have 1 wire plugged into it. Apply Teflon paste to threads of new sender before installing. Do not over tighten. Make sure coolant level in radiator is correct.

Thanks Joe. I found the sensor, tested it and found it was okay. Re-installed and it worked again. Perhaps that was a warning failure or electrical cable problem. Still monitoring the device.

The sensor is located near the hood latch area in front of the radiator. If the temp is reading incorrectly, chances are it is defective. You can purchase a new one, they relativly inexpensive.
Disconnect the electrical connector then remove the sensor.
Good luck, let me know.

This usually happens when the gauge on the dash goes bad. It can be the sensor for the water temperature too mounted on the engine. The sensor for the fans will have nothing to do with the gauge

Guages not working,

If all voltages checked ok,then most probably its faulty instrument cluster board on which gauges are connected.Yes if cluster circuit board looks ok,then also it can be faulty.Somewhere there is minute short or burn on board then such prolem arises.
Also check the fuse box.One under hood and other under dash.Inspect each and every fuse and see if all are fine or not.

Oil pressure guage intermitently falls to zero when idling. The dashboard "check gauge" light comes on. Has happened on three different occasions out of about 20 driving excursions. When it isn't happening...
