SOURCE: 05 neon making squealing noise while driving. the noise stops when brakes are pushed

inferior pads or improperly installed. it could be that they just need to conform to the disc and the sound will go away, but you should find out that everything else is ok. if you got one of those brake jobs with a lifetime warranty, then its definitely because of the pad material.

Check to make sure there aren't any vacuum leaks. Did this problem start after doing the plug and intake clean, or was you having that problem before too?

There is a squealing noise coming from around the carborator not sure if it is the egr valve or not help

You're sure it's up near the EGR valve? EGRs don't usually squeal... Unless it's a whistling noise that resembles a squeal. If it's an open-style EGR valve, you can usually reach a finger in through the cage and open it yourself. Do this and see if it changes the sound, it should also create a vacuum leak and change the way the engine is running. Be cautious, though: DON'T attempt this when the engine is hot, do it right after startup. EGR valves get really hot, as it is exhaust gas that flows through them!

If the squealing goes away when you do this, clean or replace the valve. You can try cleaning it with carb cleaner if carbon buildup is preventing it from seating. If not, you may very well have a vacuum leak somewhere else around the carb if its still squealing.

2002 v6 ford mustang makes a squealing sound

Stay on track--- spark plugs & filters don't make noise

When you buy a vehicle, you set up a preventative
maintenance schedule,no excuse for no filter change
or trans & power steering fluids & brake fluid

Start listening to & checking things
Where is the squeal coming from?
Loosen the belt & try feeling the water pump

Stalling out could be unrelated, did you by someones
else problem child?

Short time belt squeal

hi

the squeal on a belt when the engine is started is a indication that it is loose and slipping

it needs to be tighten or at least changed, sometimes people squirt a little oil on it to lubricate it so it stops making that noise but it wont stop until tightened or changed

I have gone to different mechanics who changed the belt multiple times, the idle pulley and the tensioner. Also they have changed the alternator, all within a months period with the same result. please...

Hi,
Have any of them checked the power steering pump, if the relief valve is jammed open it will cause the loud squealing sound also. Get them to check this.
Let me know if you need more information
Thanks

My 92 4 runner makes a squealing noise when I turn. It only makes the noise when I start to accelerate in the beginning of turning. If I slow down on the gas the noise stops alot quicker, then if I keep on...

Most likely need to replace you accessory drive belt. However, before you do that make sure the tensioner is bringing adequate pressure to bear on the belt. The squealing is probably the side of the belt slipping in the metal drive pulleys.

Engine makes a rapping noise at idle and under throttle.

The rapping noise makes me think that it might be a broken belt or even the lifters. It could be even your fan. Check the blades to se if they are bent or broken.

Loud squealing noise

The noise is most likely the serpentine belt. Check it's condition and that of the belt tensioner. It sounds like the belt is slipping, causing the squealing noise u describe. As the belt warms up, it's getting a better 'grip' and the noise stops. Turning on the heat also turns on the a/c in newer cars, this added drag on the belt (one more component to turn, the a/c compressor) would explain why it happens when u turn on the heat. Is the belt original? If yes, it's time to change it, and check the belt tensioner to make sure it's doing it's job of keeping the belt snug on all the pulleys. Let me know how u make out.
