what color is the smoke has it got a blue tinge to it if so its the oil ring if its just loads of smoke the other possibility valve oil seal the spark plug seal which is in the rocker box or valve cover this stops oil seaping throught the plugs into piston you could get a compresion test to see if its a cylinder seal

My 1986 mercedes 300e runs hot i replaced the thermastat

Hi,first of all worm the car up to running tempriture, put your hand on the water pipe that is coming from the fermastate is it hot if so try the one at the bottom of the radiater to see if that is hot if that is hot then the radiater is fine, nexst turn engine off, then undo the oil cap to see if your oil has a musterd colour for oil if oil is ok,then you will have to do a compresion test to see if there is one of your cylinders has low compresion.
some times you can have a broken head gasket which can couse uneven running due to water going into the cylinder.
I hope its not bad and a easy fix this is just to give you food for thought, best of luck.

95 5.2 in grand cher. one cylinder low compresion even with new heads doesn"t use oil either like bad rings do

Try a leak down test, similar to a compression test, but fills the cylinder with air and regulates the amount of air escape. This may help.

Low compresion on one cylinder on 2.5 taureg

Low compression can be caused by either worn or stuck piston rings or by a valve seating problem (which can be in the valve seat, a worn cam or in the rocker/push rod assembly between them). The way to determine is to start with a cool engine (meaning the rings are dry), run compression test on the cylinder in question (or all if you like, I would) then put a little bit of oil in the cylinder/cylinders and re-run the test. If the compression comes up it is the rings. If not it is in the valve not seating properly. Of course after you put oil in the cylinders when you start the car don't be alarmed at it smoking for a couple of minutes until the oil burns out. That's normal.

Oil in cylider 1994 Toyota Corolla

Sounds like you might have a plugged up fuel filter or your fuel pump might be going bad.
As far as oil in one cylinder, it could be you have a bad valve guide, but I doubt it cause they usally all would start going bad together, you might have bad piston rings, the best thing to do is a compresion check with a tablespoon of oil in that cylinder. Check the cylinder first without oil and see what your pressure is shoud be (100-125) if lower than that, put the oil in and check again, if the pressure comes up considerably to the 100-125 then you have bad piston rings. If not than it is your valves/valve guides.
