If your at fault you pay, but if the other is at fault, you need witnesses.

SOURCE: car wont restart after minor fender bender

Most modern autos are equiped with a crash sensor fuel cutoff switch. That may need to be reset. I don't know much about the Tarus, but I found the switch in the trunk area near the passenger rear fender in my Ford Escort.

I am on disablement and am not 65 yet so the only insurance foe me is a spend down and it cost $401.00 a month I only get $495.00 So how can I pay for this and live

What kind of insurance? Is that car insurance? That is awful high for a liability policy. I am 72 and my car insurance (liability only, as required by law) is under $30 per month. If you have to spend that much, can't be done on $495/month.

2000 ford mercury 3.0, shifter wont move. had a fender bender, put it into park and it wouldn't come back out.

For car not changing gears it can be shifter assembly issue, or it can also be transmission issue. Get the shifter assembly inspected with ignition OFF.

For more troubleshooting, I suggest you to get the Following help link checked, its complete step by step procedure to inspect gear shift issues: -----

Minor accident occurred 2 days after re-insuring our car, although several day's had gone by on renewing our policy the insurance company after deeming the car to be a write off due to its low value...

If you have an accident report from the police department, there should be no issue. This is just one reason that all accidents should be reported if for nothing more than your own protection and of course most jurisdictions require it by law even for minor fender benders. You still can file a report with the cooperation of the other driver, though, and that should certainly be enough because you are both signing an affidavit to the events and the insurance company can't refuse. Your state has an insurance commissioner. Do you want to see your insurer jump? Contact them and make them aware that you are filing a complaint with the state insurance commissioner. If that doesn't get them to change their mind while you're on the phone with them then file a complaint with the commissioner's office. You'll get results and it won't take long.
