SOURCE: I have a 02 Polaris Ranger 4x4.Recently replaced the drive belt due to my suspicion that it was shredded or stretched. Ran fine after repair but same issue again. High throttle but will barely move.

How much tension is on it ?

Why did new drive belt fail

A car with belt drive? Whatever the case the belt shredded because what ever was driving it kept turning and what it was trying to turn was locked up. Ergo, heat and friction = shredded belt.

Dodge ram pulley

That is not right! No OEM pulley ever needs to be moved. There are engineers that figure out where those pulleys need to be. The problem is most likely that a unit the belt drives is out of alignment or is wearing badly. Get a new mechanic.

Drive belt shredded along side of belt near pulley's. belt is not split apart , will the engine be ok

This has got nothing to do with any problem with your engine but the belt must be replaced immediately before it can have a break down.

The serpintine belt shredded on one side, and fell off. Much coolant was released from the vehicle. Don't know which happened first. The pulleys all move freely, except for the crank pulley, which I...

You lost coolant and the water pump pulley is "wobbly". You'll need to replace the water pump because the same thing is going to happen when you replace the belt and *** coolant.

Having trouble starting car. The battery is fine since lights still come on. Found a shredded belt. Not sure if it's the alternator belt. Appreciate the help. Marcia

Don't drive the car until you make sure the belt that is shredded is not the water pump belt. YOU could drive but the engine will overheat and have a more costly problem. Two things, if the lights are working but the car is not starting. It could be that the terminals are dirty on the battery AND if the belt that is shredded is the Alternator belt, the battery could be just down on charge. Do to things (1) Find out which belt needs to be replaced and have it replaced. (2) Charge the battery, maybe a friend has a charger, if so have them trickle charge the batter for at least 12 hrs. Less there's some other problem that should take care of it.

Smoke, smoke, smoke and alternator/fan belt shredded

If 1994 Suzuki equip with air condition then please check the A/C compressor clutch.

The compress clutch can lock up on a defect ai/c pump and cause the belt to smoke.

Please check for a fail a/c pump first and get back to me.

An fair A/C pump can be bypass via an a/c pump bypass pulley (as picture below)
