Check coolant level , if ok take it for a drive , if it clears up all is ok. Ir's only condensation in the exhaust system. If it is still exhausting whits steam check for blown head gasket or cracked head.

White smoke on start up

white smoke is a sign of water in the exhaust , the question is how is it getting there , if only when initial start then goes off then it's only condensation in the exhaust system heating up and turning to steam , if it goes on when driving check coolant level and check engine oil for signs of coolant contamination

Brake shuddering, interior lights stay on, white exhaust, signal light problems, heater fan will turn off periodically, smoke coming from back vent...is it worth fixing up? 1998 Ford Windstar GL Thanks!

The white exhaust is a bad head gasket
and coolant causing the white smoke

That's about as bad as it gets, forget
the other issues for now

I would part with it and stay away from
any van type vehicles,the transmissions
are terrible

I have a 1998 ford windstar V6. and im having lots of white smoke pouring out tail pipe with lite water what can this be

It's possible that the white smoke you are seeing is from coolant entering the exhaust, however, I would think that the engine would also be running rough or be difficult to start should this be the case. I would start by checking the coolant level. If the level is very low then it's possible that you have a head gasket leaking which is allowing coolant to enter a cylinder and then be forced into the exhaust where it will turn into a thick white steamy/smoke that takes a while to dissipate after it exits the tailpipe. Whatever the source or cause of the smoke is, it's possible that it could cause some serious engine damage so you should have it checked out as soon as possible.

Sir, My ford windstar 1998 give me the code P0174,sytem too lean(bank2), can you tell me what the problem is , it gives a heavy white smoke when i start the engine . just put a new cylinder head gasket...

It's an intake gasket. Another option, however rare is the air flow meter. But not likely. The white smoke is most likely antifreeze leaking into either a cylinder, or the intake and entering a cylinder, exiting as white smoke. The bad intake gasket (or intake manifold) could be causing both problems. I'd try a new set of gaskets and just the upper half of the intake manifold.

Windstar Minivan - starts, will not reverse, only forward

Needs a Trans most likely, known to fail around 100k miles. Maintenance very important and correct fluid on these. At the Dealer the price used to be around $2,000.00 , aftermarket shops around half that, FIND a REPUTABLE shop.
