Question about 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis
Right next to the coolant deposit, there is the air pump for your air bags, is it making a sound?( if it does, its pumping air)
is it leaking air?,
carefully use soap and water to test for air leaks,
is the hose connected to it in good shape?
My mechanic says that is very unlikely for both bags to give way at the same time, he would force air to the bags and test them to see where the leak is.
my air hose to the pump in this case had a leak, bad one, so no air was going to my air bags. good luck (tony)

Your talking about the strut air bags? This is a very difficult problem,I used to just get rebuilt ones and replace them,or get them from the junk yard,The dealer will charge you a whole lot of money for this job.It can take up to 4 hours just for diagnostics.for all that remove them and replace them, just my thought. It's up to you how you choose to fix your car,Good Luck! there used to be a Co. called arnott industries down south they rebuild them,I dont have their # sorry.
