If I have water in my oil in a Mazda 2.5 non turbo 4 cylinder Diesel engine is it head gasket or head

Heads are pretty rugged. Most likely the gasket. the head should be sent out to check and flattened if necessary, anyway. They can warp with heat.

I used holts wonderweld in my cast iron cylinder head in 2013. Last week the car overheated can I use holt wonderweld after skimming the top or it still sealed.

I would say that you used Holts because of a leaking head gasket. You should be fitting a new head gasket so there should be no need for the use of holts.

2003 saab 9-3 4 cylinder turbo blown head gasket

this is a major piece of mechanical work as you seem to be aware, i would suggest if you feel confident to do it yourself get a workshop manual that will give a step by step guide and the correct torques etc , you wont know if the head needs recon until its off but if it has'nt been overheated time and time again it should be fine , also depending on mileage as to wether the valves need regrinding and new seals , i would do this as well while the head is off as is best practice to carry out further maintenance when the oppourtunity is there also change the timing belt and tensionor ,you can probably hire the correct tools needed as buying would cost quite a bit to be used only once so there is a lot to consider so i wish you good luck and keep me up to date please. Also bear in mind the age and condition of vehicle against cost of repair might be better to trade in keeping the head problem to yourself!

Is there any way besides the head gasket for coolant to burn out of the exhaust?

That is the most common route into the exhaust, via the cylinder head but, is the vehicle a diesel with a water cooled turbo? If so, check the small coolant pipes, at the turbo, for flow and return and try to see (when cold) if there is leakage past the turbo seal.
If the vehicle is conventionally asperated, a pressure test on each cylinder, should reveal if the integrity of the head gasket is compromised.

Could water in engine oil be due to turbo charger failure white smoke emitting from exhaust and coolant is not holding in reservoir engine oil looks like chocolate milk would a turbocharger rebuild kit fix...

If your turbo has coolant passages for cooling then it is possible. Most likely the issue is failed head gasket. You need to do a compression check or a cylinder leak down test to rule out a failed head gasket.

Hi, what does it mean when huge amounts of white smoke comes out of the exhaust? otherwise drives ok? it is a renault megane 1.5 dci 2004. regards catherine

Symptom: White smoke or water vapor from the exhaust. You notice white smoke coming from the exhaust when you start your car. If it is cold out, this may be normal. If the smoke does not disappear after the car is warmed, you have a problem. Possible causes:
  1. Transmission fluid may be entering the intake manifold through vacuum modulator.
    The Fix: Replace vacuum modulator
  2. Cylinder head gasket(s) may be bad.
The Fix: Replace cylinder head gasket(s).
  3. Cylinder head(s) may be warped or cracked.
The Fix: Resurface or replace cylinder heads. (Resurfacing is not a DIY job)
  4. The engine block may be cracked.
    The Fix: Replace engine block.

Cylander head side gasket for V6 engine

hi view sonic,

if you're not well verse with engines, i suggest that you leave it to the experts,
this is a delicate matter replacing your cylinder head gasket.

you have to remove a lot of things and it takes a lot of experience in doing this.

you only have one cylinder head gasket.

OR you can try tightening the cylinder head bolts using a torque wrench and see if that would solve your problem.

just remove the cylinder head cover and you can tighten the bolts from there.

tnx 4 using fixya,

HELP 86 GL-10 /getting hot

This can be a slipping belt, a worn out water pump, a damage fan or the worst of all a burnt cylinder head gasket. Turbos running at high pressures tend to blow the cylinder head gaskets. Also check the radiator.
