SOURCE: I have 1987 Mazda B2200 2.2 ltre, turns, fires, no fuel psi.

I had something like this before. There is a fuel saftey switch near the gas tank right by the rear end. Its a roll over sensor and mine fell off the mount and I guess the truck thought it was upside down :)

Why wont my truck wont start?

there is probably a filter screen where the gas comes into the carb. Remove the gas line and the nut it screws into on the carb to find the screen.

Check the Fuel Filter and Fuel line to carb. May have a blockage. Hope this helps. I know fuel filters can block completely and no fuel will flow.

Where is the fuel filter for a 2004 mazda 3 located

The fuel filter is located on the right hand side of the car .It is under a plastic shield just in front of the rear right side wheel . In some cars of mazda 3 the filter on Mazda 3 models is part of the fuel pump assembly.
The fuel filter on all Mazda cars can be located on a bracket in the left rear of the engine compartment, next to or beneath the brake master cylinder fluid reservoir or as part of the fuel pump assembly.
Tools:
  1. 3/8 in. drive ratchet - $7.55
  2. Hose pincher - $4.07
  3. Flare nut wrench - $5.53
  4. Flat Head scredriver - $3.14
  5. Socket Set
Steps:
Open the hood and locate the fuel filter. If the fuel filter is not in the engine compartment, follow the fuel line from the tank until the fuel filter is located.
Tip: Safety Tip:Always wear safety glasses when working on your vehicle. Wear other personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, for example latex gloves or safety shoes. 7432eb9.jpg
  • 1. Fuel filter in engine compartment.
  • 2. If the fuel filter has a clear case, inspect the filter element for dirt.

  • 3. If the fuel filter case is not see-through, remove it from the fuel line. Drain the fuel from the filter into a container and inspect the condition of the fuel.
  • Tip: Caution: Before removing fuel lines or fuel related parts, make sure that the fuel pressure is relieved from the vehicle fuel system. To relieve the pressure in fuel injected systems, remove the fuel pump fuse and run the engine

  • 4. Install the new fuel filter making sure that the flow is in the correct direction. The arrow on the fuel filter is the direction of flow from the tank to the engine.
  • 5. Secure the lines back onto the fuel filter. If applicable, reinstall the fuel pump fuse.
  • 6. Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.
  • 7. Test drive the vehicle to check for a rough running engine, hesitation, or lack of power.
Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Car sat 3 years, tried to start. Had to replace fuel filter, still not getting fuel.

Did you check to make sure fuel is getting as far as the filter? Detach the fuel line at the filter and have someone crank the engine. If fuel doesn't get to the end of the line you've got a clog somewhere else or there's a break in the fuel line.

Replaced manual fuel pump blew all fuel line out

Do you have more than 4 gallons of gas in the tank? Some models won't **** to prime with less than that in the tank. This is mostly an issue when there is air in the lines. There is usually a screen filter on the pick up, but blowing that out should have taken care of it at least for a few days. Another possibility is a pinhole leak in the line between the tank and the pump. That lets the pump **** air, which will not let it **** gas. There could be a larger in-line filter between the tank and the carb filter. Let us know if you find out what it is.

Have to keep engine choked for car to run

possibly bad fuel pump, plugged fuel filter, dirt in carb, plugged main jet, vacuum leaks, check fuel flow at carb inlet, if good, go on to carb itself , remove carb from engine, take to work surface, disassemble carb, clean all parts with carb cleaner and a soft bristle brush, make sure all jets are clear, blow out with air if you can, reassemble carb, put back on motor, attach linkage, fuel line, try engine, luck

I need to change the fuel filter. where is it located. do i need special tools ?

The fuel filter on most Mazda cars can be located on a bracket in the left rear of the engine compartment, next to or beneath the brake master cylinder fluid reservoir or as part of the fuel pump assembly.

On the Millenia, the fuel filter is located beneath an access cover in the trunk. Access to the cover is achieved by removing the trunk mat to expose the cover.

The filter on Mazda 3 models is part of the fuel pump assembly.

Won't start

Check for fuel pressure at carb by placing a pressure gauge between the carb and fuel line . Check fuel delivery by putting a long hose connected to fuel line at carb and cranking. If you have pressure below 4lbs or if you get poor delivery cranking (with hose in a can or jar to measure amount) than you have either a bad pump or filter. If engine starts when you pour a small amount of fuel into it, and delivery and pressure was good, then there is a carb problem. When working on older vehicles, always make sure that fuel line from tank is not rusted and leaking.
