Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

I have a Kymco UXV 500. I installed a new battery, as the old one had died, but now the radio and winch won't work. I have replaced all the fuses in the fuse box, but they still don't work.

Are there some fuses elsewhere that could be causing this?

THERES A FUSE BOX THAT SITS INSIDE THE HOOD OF YOUR CAR BY YOUR BATTERY AS WELL AS ONE BY THE SIDE PANEL BY YOUR DRIVER SIDE. EITHER SPOT SHOULD HAVE A FUSE THAT GOES TO YOUR RADIO. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU!

You need a code to enable your radio. Happens every time the battery is dead or disconnected. Contact a Saturn rep.

SOURCE: cant find radio fuse

I'm sorry if this sounds a little too vague, but when the exact same thing happened to our Accord, my husband handled it and I wasn't really involved. Someplace you should have a card (It's either in with your papers if you bought the car new or if you bought it used, hopefully the last owners left in the glovebox or ? .) that has a 'security code' on it for 'resetting' the radio, etc. (There's some sort of an auto-shut-off in case someone is trying to steal your radio, etc..). When you follow the directions on the card and punch-in the numbers, it automatically resets and the radio and lighter* come back on (*BTW, I'm not sure if our lighter ever went out...??). If you can't find the card, then you'll have to go into a Honda dealership (They will NOT give out the # over the phone!) and by using your VIN they can look-up your #, although I don't know if they charge for this service or not. Hope this is of some help to you! BEST OF LUCK!

SOURCE: Battery died replaced battery but now the radio

Quick and free fix sir or maam. The radio locks up when the battery is removed on today's cars.I don't know who decided to start it but it is somewhat stupid...I think anyhow. All you have to do is call a Ford dealer and they will give you the code and method to unlock your stereo.Write it down because your battery may get disconnected for many other reasons than a dead battery when repaired.I am pretty sure they just need the VIN.You can put aftermarket stereos in too if you ever want to.Good luck! 2008 kymco 500 uxv front differential seal problems are they common I've replaced the seal three times on the drivers side and they only last about 40 miles.

There should be a vent on top of the differential. If this vent gets plugged with mud, pressure buildup from the heat will push oil past the seal. It can even push the seal itself out. Just an idea, but check that the vent is open.

1991 Miata Help! Won't start, nothing at all on key turn, STILL after battery replacement. Help!

The main fuse blew. Look in your fuse box for a big fuse it should be labeled main or master fuse. Replace this fuse and vehicle should work everything but maybe the starting issues. You have a short somewhere. If the fuse blows again or the car won't start repost the problem

My car started dying and now hasnt enough charge to start

sound like bad battery cables.replace them.the positive battery cable is old and have a lot of resistance not allowing power to the alternator to charge battery.if battery cable good check alternator connector wires.make sure they are not damage also check alternator fuse and fuse link.turn off radio before removing battery wires so you wont lose radio code.

My 05 tiburon battery was dying so i replaced it then my stereo stopped working its not the fuse is there a reset

Radio 'resets' automatically when power is removed -- so, since you replaced the battery, the time lapse between removal of the old battery and installation of the new battery automatically did it.
