I am rebuilding a circa 1950 Chev truck petrol engine The cylinders seem to be in excellent condition and just seem to be a bit glazed if i just hone them what would be the best cross hatch pattern to try...

If the cylinder isn't egg shaped and true top to bottom, then I would use a dingle berry hone and do a slow down and up motion and just enough to get a full cross hatch pattern, don't over do it. Make sure you use steel rings and not chrome molly as they will take forever to seat and are not as forgiving. If you have a cylinder tool I would check your diameter top to bottom and check the ridge at the top .

93 Ford Ranger 4cly. running rough and back firing out exhaust, has had a tune-up. Could the Mass Airflow cause this problem, no change in engine when unplugged.

Timing may be off. Have you checked it? Back firing could be valve timing problem; could also be too much gas-check injector spray pattern-should see a cone shaped pattern of fine mist on the throttle plates when cranking engine-this is if you have throttle body injection.
For $20-$30, you can buy a compression gauge tester and check engine compression. On a warmed up engine, pull all spark plugs, disable ignition and fuel delivery (pull injector fuse or unplug injectors), hold throttle wide open, and check compression on each cylinder by cranking engine over about 7-10 revolutions-the same amount for each cylinder, about 4-5 seconds each. All cylinders should be nearly even and balanced. Lowest cylinder should be at least 75% of highest reading cylinder. For any low reading cylinder, put a squirt of oil (about a tablespoon) in that cylinder and retest compression: if compression rises, rings are worn. If compression does not improve, valves are the reason for low compression-valves may be burnt or not sealing good.
I would do the compression test-on an engine that old, before putting expensive parts into it, you should know if the engine's internal mechanical condition is good first.

97 Cadillac Delegance Front end noise , dissapears when going into right hand turn then returns when straightening out. Tires recently rotated and balanced , tire that was on right front had wear pattern...

I would be checking out the wheel bearings for the problem. I would also be checking the front suspension for worn ball joints and steering end joints. Tyre wear patterns indicate unbalance-wheel alignment-shock absorbers and front end wear. I refuse to rotate tyres for several reasons Radial tyres when developing a wear pattern will retain that wear pattern even if placed on a trailer--Wear patterns show a fault for that wheel and tells which wheel and what needs to be done to repair it and lastly tyres wear in pairs so if you have a front wheel drive car why replace 4 tyres when the need is to replace only 2 front ones. Saves about 50% of the cost of tyres. The rotation theory came about from cross ply tyres and does not apply to radials except for tyre dealers profits

I have a 1995 chevy k1500 350 tbi and every time it starts up it runs reaal smooth drive it for a little and pull up to a light while its still in drive sounds like i have a cam in it. but i don't i have...

hhhmmm only warm huh...is the fuel pump making a whine noise...if so chang it...any pressure less than 58 psi wils cause numerous issues...you can also check pressue and spray pattern by putting a timing light on and pointing it at the tbi injectors and note the spray pattern..should be atamized to a V shape pattern...picture a V upside down...and also make shure egr and intake manifols clean passages and not leaking...good luck..

Steering Wheels Problem

There could be a lot of reason for vibrations on your steering, One reason could be is that your wheels need to be balanced. Car tires, can go out of shape and the farther the tire shape becomes from a circular shape the more vibrations you may encounter. Another is bad bushings, ball joints or tie rods especially when you turn and in some cases these problem can be tested by moving the wheel laterally as if trying to turn it by hand on the outside. Some cases it could be bad shocks.
