Question about Dodge Cars & Trucks

Open Question

Want to take out the fuel injectors on a 2001 Dodge Stratus 2.4L. I think they/one are stuck open. Took off air filter, gas ran out of the tube!

I've never messed with fuel injectors before!

SOURCE: cant seem to find the fuel filter on the 2001 dodge stratus

most likely no filter that you can service. most of these chryslers have them in the fuel tank as part of the fuel pump

Best do a fuel pressure test. Should have chg. fuel filter from the get go. The only other filter is on the end of the fuel pump in tank. Bad gas and dirty gas will plug up fuel filter, hense burn pump up.

I have a 2001 dodge stratus, new distributor, spark plugs, has air compression fuel and spark and it cranks but wont turn, also just put a brand new crankshaft sensor in. Trying to figure out why it wont...

An engine needs 3 things to run...air, fuel, and compression....but they also need to happen at the correct time. If you have verified that the engine not only has enough fuel pressure to operate the injectors, but that the injectors are firing. That all of the spark plugs are getting fire, and that each of the cylinders have enough compression to run. I would think you have to check your timing marks.

03 Dodge Stratus ran out of gas and now wont start

There is no reset.
The fuse and pump relay should be in the fuse box near the battery.
You may have to disconnect the filter or the rail to let the air out of the system. And you may have plugged up the screen in the tank.

Car doesnt accelerate when gas is pressed it bogs and jerks motor is on but idle is low

This problem could be caused by anything between
the gas pedal and the throttle. Talking about spark
plugs, air filter, fuel filter, fuel injectors, engine control
unit, egr system, intake manifold air leak and so on.
You can try Spark plugs or a couple of bottles of
gas tank additive to clean you fuel system. Had a
98 with dirty injectors which took five applications
to clear them. Other wise Chrysler will have to hook
up and look for fault codes. If no ck engine light is
on try the simple fixes first (basic tuneup).

1998 Dodge stratus ran out of gas - filled tank but car won't start now

I had the same problem with my 98 Stratus.....i ran out of gas and wouldn't start afterwards....checked the pump because i thought maybe it overheated due to running without fuel in it to cool it.......but that wasn't it.....It turned out that the crud in the bottom of the tank went and plugged the fuel filter up.....changed the filter and's good as new.....hope this helps you out.... =-)

Ran out of gas, filled with gas still won't start

most likely a clogged fuel filter, all the impuritys laying in the tank got sucked in to the filter when you ran out of gas, and with air in the fuel pump it probably does not have the power to **** the fuel trough the clogged filter, replace the filter

2001 Dodge Stratus will not start

Take air intake hose off at throttle body, open up throttle plate, and spray about 2 or 3 seconds of WD-40 into the throttle body. Now try to start it, if it kicks over & starts for a second or 2, then you've got spark, but not fuel in most cases. Let us know results. Can you hear a "hum " from rear area (gas tank) ,of car when you turn key to on position, but not start?
