Did you put the ignition in the right position when you installed it,your probably put it too far forward, you know you can start it without the key with a screwdriver.on your model did you have to remove the ateering wheel?

My 2003 lincoln aviator key won't turn

Try looking at the Brake lights when the brakes are pressed. There is a switch on some of the brake pedal levers that sends a signal to release a Lock-out for the Ignition.

If the brake lights do not work, the brake lever switch is out of position or broken.

This is a common problem with many Ford designs and occurs when the drivers feet hit the switch.

No brake lights

Check the brake pedal switch under the dash. Its on the brake pedal lever and often gets hit by feet. Could be broken and shorted the old battery. This is part of the ignition interlock system.

Turn signals and high beams

First check around all the lights (front, rear, headlight, turn signal, parking, fog, etc..) for loose, broken, or bare wires, and/or loose , broken, or bad connectors. Any of these could cause the lighting to short. If everything is in good working order, then the problem will most likely lie with switch inside the column (the lever).
