How do you set the ignition timing on a 1999 Ford Escort Sport with 2.0L engine?

you can't set ignition timing on that car. it has coil packs and an ignition module and it is all controlled by the computer. there is no adjustment.

is there something i can help you with? what seems to be the issue with the car?

1988 Bronco 2 stalling out.

have te ignition module and stator been replaced? that is the common cause of this, and yes the engine being out of time can cause this stall out, when you time the engine remember you must remove the timing shorting bar at the distributor connector to the TFI ignition module or the timing will be severely retarded

Check engine light blinks

Ok, i would ave the ignition coil pack tested for its operational valve asap if possible. this is either an ignition coil pack issue or, a bad ECM. the ECM controls the ignition timing in this vehicle so, the problem will be there if the crank shaft sensor and cam sensors are ok.

I would pull the trouble codes asap as well. this will help diagnosis this issue correctly. this can be done at a local auto zone or a local mechanics shop as well.

The first part of your question must be verified first. Is the engine still running or is it possably the starter motor that will not disengage?
