Fuse keeps blowing on my cub cadet ltx1050 with key off and battery hooked up

The mower ran for one pass of cutting then just died, no indication on display and as soon as I try to put a new fuse in it blows even when I disconnected the battery then put fuse in then I connected the positive cable to battery then as soon as the neg. cable touch the post on the battery the fuse blew.

I have an old Cub Cadet model 128. I started the unit and cut grass for about 15 mins.when it missed badly. About 2 min later it just died.


Check the wiring for a dead short. Make sure key is off and removed and try to turn engine over by hand.

I would take it to a auto store and they can check your battery circuit for free to see what the problem could be they will hook up a tester that will check the circuit out.

that is the problem . who ever hooked up the fan it is cut into something. I bet if you umhook the fan you will stop blowing fuses

Why was the battery replaced? Theres no reason the the 100 amp fuse to blow unless the alternator is shorted or you hooked up the battery backwards. I think the 100 amp fuse goes to the alternator. If it was hooked up backwards then you may have engine computer damage.

Not sure what you mean by eng mod fuse. What's the year, make and model? What's the description of that fuse in the owner's manual?

The car died on me in the middle or the road . The #1 fuse blows


Check your ignition/fuel pump relay---it's with all the other relays in a dash tray---it's ORANGE---check it for dead-short.
