SOURCE: 2007 gmc sierra 2500 IAT sensor
Well, the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor is located on the air intake duct between the filter and the throttle body (Assuming you have the 6L motor). The wires are easily visible at the plug that connects the sensor to the wiring harness. That's the easiest place to access them.

SOURCE: how to charge dual batteries
There should be a bridge mounted close to the main battery. Make sure that bridge is on. Now connect your charger to the main battery. This will charge both batteries evenly.

This is what i would try (cheapest first) redexe/wyyns
injector cleaner, double dose, then i have put 1gal gas in 10gal diesel to increase burn temp (you may encounter a hot start problem temporarilly)then if still smoking, get a compresion check on the engine(this will tell you volumes)
by the way the NATO tanks put in 1/3 gas in diesel to stop it freezing in arctic conditions.any more than 1/3 can result in problems.
