What is the location of a fuel pressure regulator on a 2006 Ford Fusion with a 2.3 liter

I believe it is part of the fuel pump module that is located inside the fuel tank. Instead of a regulator on the fuel rail they have a fuel rail pressure sensor.... only one pressure line from the tank no return line.

Is there a fuel pressure regulator if so where is it located or is the fuel pump the only source of fuel pressure

Hi Richard, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair.

Richard, the fuel is to create the fuel pressure that is needed. But, the pressure regulator is only to keep the correct pressure at the fuel rail. On almost every vehicle the pressure regulator is either on the fuel rail "OR" on the fuel pump module inside the gas tank. If you have no fuel pressure I would suggest checking for power and ground going to the fuel pump in the tank before buying any part. Because if you have power and ground at the pump then you will need a new fuel pump. If you don't have power and ground at the pump. You'll need to check for blown fuses and swap the fuel pump relay for one that is the same type in the fuse block. Hope this helps and please visit my auto-repair-website and give me thumbs up. http://www.bigasautorepair.com/

My fuel pressure goes to 60 pounds when the keys is turned on then starts dropping Is it my fuel pump or pressure regulator? 2004 GMC Yukon XL

Fuel pressure may drop due to a leaking injector or bad check valve in the fuel pump itself. The regulator does not come into effect until the engine is running and a vacuum supply is produced to it. If the regulator is leaking internally, it could send fuel back to the tank as well. Prime the fuel line and pinch off the return line ( if possible ) to eliminate a regulator problem. If the fuel pressure drops with the return line pinched off, suspect a leaking injector or fuel pump. If injector is leaking, the vehicle should run rich and cause a hard start/rough run condition

have you checked to see if engine is firing? ignition module can go bad and you would loose fire and fuel at the same time. i replaced one on a chevy truck last week and it was located beside the ignition coil.

Fuel regulator location

It is inclusive in the fuel pump. There isnt a replacement only replace the fuel pump. I just took of the intake manifold assembly to look for it and it was not there. I then dropped the fuel tank and it is not there. The answer sad to say is replacing the fuel pump. Use the AC Delco Fuel pump the generic brands failed ed a few people multiple times.

My 2001 Yukon Xl 5.3L has been hard starting for the last few months and today when I started it up it hesitated quite a bit a then stalled a few times, started right back up and then hesitated all the way...

Possible pump issue. Carbon on valves can cause these issues as well. GM has a top end cleaner to run through the fuel rail and decarbonize the valves and injectors.

Chevy burb 2005 fuel pressure drops in rail after vehicle sits for awhile... where is the Presurre Regulator?

The pressure regulator is located on the left side; driver side common rail -- however, that is most likely not your problem. You either have a bad check valve in the fuel pump inside the fuel tank or you have a fuel injector staying open...and leaking fuel pressure. The regulator only works when the vehicle is running.
