SOURCE: How to remove 2001 hyndai sonata audio system

Instructions
Things You'll Need:

  • Screwdrivers
  • Wiring harness adaptor
  • Hyundai radio adaptor kit
  1. Open the coin holder and remove the two screws at the front. Pry the trim from around the gearshift lever and unhook the power wire to the cigarette lighter.
  2. Locate and remove the two screws from the bottom of the radio trim panel. Look for the screws, attached to a rod, below the glove box. Unhook the cable from the rod and pull the rod free.
  3. Place the shifter into "D" and slide the radio trim panel away from the dash. Locate the four screws at the front and sides of the stereo and remove them.
  4. Pull the stereo out of the Hyundai Sonata dash and disconnect the wires from the back of the unit. Connect the wiring harness adaptor to the original harness.
  5. Slide the new head unit into the Hyundai radio adaptor kit. Attach the wiring harness adaptor and antenna wire to the back of the new head unit and push the entire assembly into the dash.
  6. Secure the stereo in place with the four front and side screws and turn it on. Verify all of the speakers and features are working. Reattach the radio trim panel, insert the rod back into cable assembly and secure the trim around the gear shift.

SOURCE: My 2008 Chevy Malibu won't go into park and I can't take the keys out of the ignition.

There is a problem in the shift linkage or internally in the transmission.
Needs further diagnostics.

SOURCE: My 2008 silverado won't start battery is charged

No, it isn't an ignition issue.

Check power to the starter motor solenoid.
If this is getting power when cranking, then the issue is with the starter motor solenoid or starter motor. Replace.

Hyndai sonata 2008. I put key in the ignition and it wont move. Seems to be locked. I tried to wiggle the wheel and nothing. What else can I do?

-You mean the ignition key is lock. So you can't turn the key to start right...?

Try this:

Insert the key into the key slot. then turn the steering left untill can't turn and hold there then turn the key. If it doesn't work then turn the other way and hold then turn the key. You should be able to turn the key like normal.

Good luck

With the key in the ign, turn it to the "acc" position. There will be a little hole on the side that you need to jam something in, in order to push the release pin down. When you have it pushed in, pull the ign out.

When i try to start me 2008 sonata the alarm goes off and the engine will not turn over. what can i do?

Your Sonata is equipped with a "Keyless Entry & Burglar Alarm" system. When the Burglar Alarm is activated, it KILLS the starting system through the used of a relay called the "Burglar Alarm Relay". This mode prevents engine starting with the key.
Solution #1
Disarm the system with the Keyless Remote (key fob) If you don't have this remote (or its battery is dead) replace the battery & try disarming again.
Solution #2
Enter the vehicle & insert the key in the ignition and turn the ignition switch to 'RUN'. Wait 3 to 5 minutes until the alarm stops. You should then be able to start the engine.

Have a qualified/certified Hyundai Service Technician properly diagnose this issue.

I replaced my battery on my 2008 Hyndai Sonata. My clock and dome lights and alarm does not work. My door locks only work with key on. My key chain lock does not work. My computer resets when key comes...

try this there is a manufactuer alarm that should set off when u put the key in and turn.. do that one more time(BUT makng sure alrm goes off then do it again) then dont take the key out turn offthen set it in the acc. postion in the ignition after the alarm goes off then wait about 5 to 10 min and turn on by then it should have reprogramed and kick on..the third time is when you should be waiting for the programming to be down...its very very important that you do the programming on the third time
