What could be the problem when I hear grinding in the front end mostly when turning, Abs light is on, AWD lock light periodically flashes, and advtrac will not turn on?

possible a loose front wheel bearing or a failed front wheel bearing
the abs light sensor is probably touching the rotor
tack it back to the shop that did the job as there is a problem in the assembly of the unit.

I have a 2005 mercury mountaineer and the abs light and the awd light is on and it feels like the tires and locking up can anybody tell me what going on

It means you are driving in All Wheel Drive mode (not recommended for driving on regular roads, so turn it OFF), and that the Anti-lock Brake System module has likely failed (possibly because you were driving around on regular roads with All Wheel Drive turned on).

What does it mean when dash shows 4x4?

If the 4wd light is blinking there is something wrong preventing the computer from using 4wd. check to see if there might be an abs code as well. we had a bad wheel bearing which also affected the wheel speed sensor that the suv needs to operate the 4wd/awd/abs correctly

The advance trac and awd are not working correctly At start up my 2005 mercury mountaineer has the abs light on , after driving about 50 yards the awd lock light blinks several times then goes to awd...

You current issue is no different than any other
vehicle problem you have had since 1996 when
the OBD2 Systems came into being

You have a MIL Lamp on or check light as some people
call it

You should have checked fore codes immediately within a day
or so to at least know the codes & then googled them to get
some idea of the issues

You know that you have an ABS Braking System issue based on
your owners manual & your abiltiy to recognize Advance Trac etc

Have to have a shop diagnose that system with professional tools

With an AWD issue possible I wouldn't even use it until fixed

The trac control is ussually a bad wheel speed sensor or related
issue

2003 mercury mountaineer brakes locking up abs light is on

Possibly has a bad wheel speed sensor or has a problem with the ABS control module and/or pump. Need to have the ABS codes pulled by a service center. Also, some auto parts stores can pull codes and may be able to pull ABS codes.

What are the signs off front wheel bearing going?Would ABS and AWD lock come on?

Generally not, you will hear a low rumbling vibrational sound when you are driving. Sometimes when you accelerate your wheel will feel like it is moving up and down.
If your ABS and AWD lock lights come on, you need to get your vehicle looked at and diagnosed.

My ABS light is on and its like the brakes are

Bring the vehicle into a repair shop ASAP. There are several things that can be wrong such as calipers master cylinder, module, fluid exhaust valves . ABS problems will affect AWD. So in all likelyhood once ABS problem is cleared AWD will be fine.

When i drive my mountaineer it feels like my brakes are locked up and my abs and awd lights are on i unplugged the awd fuse but didnt help and also when i turn left i hear clicking and clanking

you should visually inspect the wheel sensors, You need to have the ABS scanned... also, a collapsed brake hose can appear to be fine externally, you need to remove it to see if fluid flows throught it and back... the clicking can be a worn outer CV joint, make sure the boot is in tact, and hasn't expelled grease, the can also set your ABS since the LH sensor or reluctor (pick up ring) could be contaminated with grease ans road debris.
