How do I remove the cover on my 2004 Pontiac Vibe sunroof control panel?

The control panel houses the buttons to operate the sunroof, but there is also a light located on the panel. I removed the one visible screw, thinking that the panel would just pop off, but it didn't. I tugged on it a couple times and still didn't move. Was afraid if I pulled hard I would damage the interior roof fabric or something else.

2007 pontiac vibe gear shift light replacement. How do I get console apart to replace bulb.

On the 2004 Pontiac Vibe that I owned, I ended up taking it to the dealer. Perhaps this advice can avoid having you end up at the same place!

Remove the middle environmental control knob (fan blower speed, I think) by tugging on it until it comes off. Underneath you will find a single Phillips screw. Remove the screw and gently (so you don't mar it), pull at the plastic trim surrounding the environmental control area. It should pop out. You may also want to remove the two-prong AC outlet by prying it gently out with a small slotted screwdriver before attempting to pry out the trim panel.

After that panel is out of the way, you are ready to tackle the plastic trim surrounding the shift knob. Begin by removing the small holding compartment at the base of the shift knob. There is a single Philips screw holding the plastic piece to a supporting brace on the lower end. Four additional screws on the upper end are revealed by the removal of the environmental control trim piece as previously described.

Okay, from there, you're ready to gently pry loose the trim panel surrounding the shift knob.

The bulb can be located on the driver's side. It's a 'funny' looking bulb that is integrated into a two wire bundle. You may end up having to replace the bulb+wire bundle as a unit. The electrical connector is on the opposite side of the shift knob.

Good luck!

2009 Pontiac Vibe. Tonight my interior light

there is a side switch on the dome light it has 3 positions
OFF
DOOR
ON
make sure it is on the DOOR
not sure about the Vibe but most GM cars if you turn the dash light dimmer switch to far it will put on the dome light also
if both the switch and the dimmer are ok
then you have a short some were in that circuit
depending on the mileage it should still be under warranty
hope this helps

notorious done if before, remove the door panel. BE CAREFUL WITH BEAUTY CAPS, CAN BE EASILY BROKEN (PLASTIC) when you remove the door panel go ahead and closed the driver door and activate the door lock button. you will see the bracket is either loose or it off. it looks the a coat hanger when you stretch it out. Reconnect it and lithium grease, test it and its a wrap.
