SOURCE: Mazda RX8 starting problem

Check that your battery is fully charged. If it does not sustain a charge , replace it. Clean the cables and battery posts with baking soda and water mixture. About 1/4 cup to a pint. If it still does not turn with a fully chared battery, it is probably the starter that is bad. It will have to be replaced. One click usually means the starter is bad. Several clicks usually means the battery is bad.

SOURCE: got a 93 lexus wont start and make a click sound

this problem is caused by a defective starter soenoid, the heavy starter electrical contacts are burned/erroded, you can either replace the satater motor or replace the solenoid which is mounted on the starter.

SOURCE: When I try starting my 1987 Mazda rx7 it clicks

Check the battery, have a load test done on the battery, and check the connections at the battery and the battery post, make sure they are shiny clean, then of course check the alternator,to make sure it is charging enough,13.65 volts to 14.25 volts, any less replace the alternator,If all this checks out good, replace the starter.

SOURCE: WONT START, BATTERY IS UP. MAKES CLICKING SOUND.

if the clicking sound comes from the solenoid when you try to start the engine the solenoid may need replacing, the solenoid is like a big switch that takes the power from the battery to the starter motor, inside it there contacts that come together to make contact & that is where the problem is.....hope this helps.....cheers

1995 MAZDA MPV. I THINK IT MIGHT BE COIL. REPLACED BATTERY. THEN STARTED A COUPLE TIMES WITHIN HOURS THEN NEXT DAY NOTHING. JUST CLICK WONT START AGAIN FULL START FEW TIMES DEAD NEXT DAY

u have to make sure nothing is draining the battery. It sounds like a drain or it may be a fault in the ignition (starter etc) if all else is working.

your starter solenoid may be bad-sometimes you can tap the starter with a hammer and it will make it work until you can take it to autozone and have it tested-cheers Denny

Mazda tribute wont start, just makes clicking noise

Sounds like a dead battery, but try cleaning the battery posts and terminals, (there is an inexpensive tool available from auto stores that anyone can use easily) Be sure to coat the posts with vaseline or grease to prevent future corrosion, and tighten the connections well. BobB

1998 Mazda B4000 truck wont start sometimes

When you say it won't start, do you have any power at all, does the radio play? Does it click or make a noise of any kind? Is it a cold non start or a warmed up non start? There are a lot of factors to consider in a non start. I still have an occasional cold non start, with full power to my lights, radio, etc. Don't want to make myself sound dumb, but for me it was gear shift (controller). Not really the safety neutral switch, but put it in neutral or move the gear lever and my car would start right away. Chances are while waiting to let it start up you have hit the handle a few times and maybe knocked into position to let it start. If this isn't your problem more info is needed.

My 2004 mazda has a brand new baterry but wont start at all. it dosent click or try to turn over at all it dosent make a sound. all the lights and windows work but not the door locks or radio

make sure all the battery connections are clean and have good contact , then check the battery , just because its new doesn't always mean its fully charged, Check in the fuse/relay box under the hood, and make sure those fuses are good,, there should be one that says Start ,
