Using a wiring diagram for the affected systems an testing with a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter is the way to find what is wrong .
It's not that simple (what may be wrong ) ! Looking at a wiring diagram to see if these thing's share a power or ground connection . Do you know what a wiring diagram is an how to read an use one ? How to use a DVOM ? You can find free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html . Watch these videos from youtube . most of the time a couple simple test's using a voltmeter will point to the problem .

You don't say what the make , model an year veicle you have . If I were to take a guess as to the problem I would say these thing's all shear a common ground point . It could be somewhere behind the instrument panel or behind the driver side kick panel .

Heat NOT blowing out ANY air consistently!!

Can be blower motor easy to test --remove it look for imbalance by spinning to check bearing smoothness / freeplay . Hook up ground then use inline fuse connector with lower than fuse panel ## number of fuse -- find power Eg .car battery -- be sure to ground then connect Fan to visually see it spin .. NOW if you have any type of electronic dash mounted controls for heat / air conditioning - most likely electrical issue is in it . you said blower motor does sometimes function - Test wires that plug in to it for power / find groung then probe by test light when in heat mode = switch to air cond mode if fan functions then problem in controls on dash .. if no test light reaction search wires for short or damage .. As FUNNY as it sounds I have pulled mouse nest out of GM heater fans - They access parked vehicle by drain hole inner fender well it drains water from wiper blade / heater vent area .

Why has my heating and my a/c stopped blowing any air

The main reason is a defective blower resistor. Normally the lower speeds on the fan switch go out first and leaves just the high speed working. Either your resistor is bad, the blower motor itself is dead, or you have a blown fuse - check the fuse box.

Diagnosing an electrical issue is never easy or cheap, sorry. When fuses blow, it is due to an improper flow of electrons. When relays go bad, it is due to overheating(which is often due to an improper flow of electrons). The BCM(Body Control Module) could be to blame... let us know how it works out =D

I have a 1990 Ford Taurus and my blinkers don't

blinkers sounds like the flasher unit is not working. It's located under dash. Also check for burnt out bulbs.
Rear defrost, or rear defogger?: Your defogger for the rear window would run off a relay, probably located in the fuse panel of your car. Often, the connections at the rear window get broke or disconnected.
Front defrost: does your heater blower work?

Automatic or manual climate control ? Looking at a wiring diagram an checking power an grounds an current draw is the correct way to test electrical circuits ,not guessing an replacing parts .
Why ???? High resistance problem probably . Volage drop testing the circuit. Your's has blower motor resistor or blower motor controller . module ?

1998 Nissan Quest - rear blower not working

SInce you indicated that it was working intermittently then quit working altogether the most likely culprit is probably a bad blower relay . The Contacts in a relay will sometimes burn and intermittently still conduct for while until they get so burnt that they won't conduct at all and the relay will have to be replaced. If you could get a Chilton Service Manual for the Vehicle in question it would probably show the exact location of the relay.

Blinkers not working at all and the heater is

If both your hazard flashers and turn indicators are not working, replace your Flasher Module,
If turn indicators only are not working replace turn indicator switch
The heater is probably a seized blower motor if fan is out, if there is heat and no air flow. If no heat check thermostat.
Good Luck on your repairs. If there anymore I can do ask.
