You could have a weak power board, look at the power board and check the capacitors, if you have a voltmeter check the volts going to the main board, there should be on the powerboard telling you the voltages, if the volts is just over they are fine but if they are just under the right volts this can be the problem as main board has a volt checker and it checks voltage and if its under its recommended voltage it will not turn things on.

Hyundai sonata 2003, have put a new battery and new alternator and belts on....problem is when driving alonglights dim, panel goes dark then engine diessss ,not sure what to check next??

Well it sounds like you are loosing a connection somewhere. If the engine is stopping because the battery is going dead, I would check the connections for the alternator and the main fuses. It could also be a problem with the key switch.
Its going to be tough to find the problem if you can't make it happen on demand in a shop.

Where is the wiper relay

A wiring diagram doesn't show a relay, just a 25 amp fuse in fuse panel under driver's side of dash. Intermittent working is usually from a loose or poor or corroded connection, or the switch is old and tired, or the motor is old and tired.
Here is one way to check, if you have a test light: when the wipers are not working with wiper switch on high, and key is on, pull off the connector to the wiper/washer motor module (in the engine bay, on the firewall) and check if the purple wire has power. If it does, you probably need to replace the module. Inside the module is a park relay switch (to return wipers to down position when turned off) and a circuit breaker between the motor and ground.
If the purple wire does not have power when key is on and wipers on high, the connection is lost between the switch and the module, or the switch may be malfunctioning. The switch has 5 wires, white wire from 25 amp fuse (power in to switch), a pink wire (for the washer motor), a purple wire (high speed wipers), a dark green wire (low speed wipers), and a gray wire (for the park relay switch inside the wiper/washer motor module). If you see a yellow wire also at the module, that is part of the low speed wiper circuit (the dark green wire) coming from the park relay switch and then to the motor.
Good luck. Post back if further questions, or need more help.

Keyless entry kit doesn't work

there is a positive and negative wire on your door lock motor. you need to put the purple wire to the negitve wire going to your door lock. try hooking up to just one of the door locks neg wires. if it only unlocks that door then you will need to run wires to the other doors aswell. the keyless system sends a neg pulse to unlock and lock the posiytive is constant. so unhook purple and attach to lock ground not car ground

My 1984 Buick regal back lights stop working, any suggestions on wht to and where to check?

Hello ojuice44,

If the bulb are good the next place to look is to check the fuses, if your turn signals work the fuse will be good. The fuse for the back-up lights is the same one for the turn signal..

After that there are two areas to check.

First, check for power and ground at the bulb sockets if ground is good and no power go to next step. If no ground repair the ground circuit ( See diagram below).

Second, check for power to the gear selector switch. Check for power with the key on and engine off going into the switch on the dark blue wire (See diagram below) if no power repair that circuit. If there is power there, then with the key on and engine off put the gear selector in reverse and check for power at the light green wire if there is power there the switch is good if no power replace the switch. If you do have power at the light green wire coming out of the switch repair the light green circuit from there to the taillights.

I hope this helps.

Headlights will not shut off after the car has been shut off the only way to shut them off is to disconnect the battery

Your vehicle is equipped with an "Auto Lamp" system. The headlamps will stay on for as long as 3 minutes depending on how you have the control set. If you are certain that this is not the problem and/or your headlamps will not turn off after 3 minutes, perform these checks:

1. CHECK HEADLAMP SWITCH OPERATION
Ensure that the headlamp switch is off. Disconnect the headlamp switch connectors. If the headlamps go foff, replace the headlamp switch. If the headlamps are still on, go to the next step.

2. CHECK CIRCUIT No. 15
Remove autolamp parking lamp relay from the under hood Power Distribution Center (PDC), near the battery. If the headlamps are off, go to the next step. If the headlamps are still on, repair the short to battery voltage in circuit No. 15 (RED/YELLOW wire).

3. CHECK AUTOLAMP RELAY GROUND CIRCUIT
Remove the autolamp parking light relay from the PDC. Measure the resistance between ground (BATTERY NEGATIVE) and terminal No. 2 (DARK BLUE/ORANGE wire) at the autolamp relay wiring harness connector. If resistance is 5 Ohms or less, continue to the next step. If the resistance is more than 5 Ohms, replace the autolamp relay.

4. CHECK THE LIGHT SENSOR AMPLIFIER
Reconnect all components. Disconnect the light sensor amplifier located in the defroster grille on the top of the dash. If the headlamps are off, replace the light sensor amplifier. If the headlamps are on, repair short to ground in circuit No. 218 (WHITE/PURPLE wire) to the headlamp switch.

My 1991 Pont grandprix wont turn over. It has never been a problep untill i put in a new battery a few days ago. I have checked all the connections and everything is tight. I have good headlights and all...

Check for voltage on the purple wire at the starter when turning the key to START. If no power, check for power at the purple wire coming out of the neutral switch/clutch switch. If no power, check for power coming into switch on yellow wire. If no power, check for power on yellow wire at ign switch. If no power, check for power coming into IGN switch on red wire. If no power, you've got a blown fusible link.
