Excessive carbon in combustion chamber is an indication of bad rings (oil). Try adding a small can of RESTORE to the oil. It is available at Wal-mart and will help with oil control

My Peugeot 508 1.6 petrol engine 2012 sedan carbon builds up on values. My question is how can I clean the carbon

fix the reason for the carbon in the first place
it is excessive fuel or oil consumption
as to cleaning carbon off the valves , there are very few products that will do that
you can ask specialist engineering shops for products that may work but the real fix is to pull the head and clean the valves and fix the reason the caused the problem

I have a Sears Model 106.153881 air compressor that I bought new around 40 years ago and use frequently. The compressor is now making a loud rattling noise as the pressure rises above 80 psi and will

As with most good units there is the possibility that you forgot to monitor the oil in the sump of the compressor and do regular oil changes. Pull the compressor and check big end bearings. check rings for sharp edges (worn) and replace the poppet valves in the head It will also bhe a good idea to clean out the holes in the head and pipes as the oil from the sump over time will carbon up and block the system causing the pistons to over load.

92 dodge stealth 3.0 dohc motor.do the valves get bent when the timing belt breaks?

it is non-interference. But it's a very close fit and if an engine is excessively carboned up that can be enough to cause interference.

Will not turn off

WHEN ENGINE KEEP RUNNING WHEN YOU TURN OFF IGNITION.THIS IS CALLED DIESELING CAUSED BY IDLE SPEED TOO HIGH.TOO MUCH CARBON BUILT UP ON PISTON HEADS AND VALVES HEADS. WHEN YOU TURN OFF ENGINE HOT SPOTS LIKE CARBON BUILT UP ON VALVE HEADS STILL HOT GLOWING.IF YOUR ENGINE HAS LEAKING FUEL INJECTORS THE DRIPPING GAS WILL IGNITE FROM THE GLOWING CARBON ON VALVE HEADS THIS WILL KEEP ENGINE RUNNING.THE ONLY THING YOU CAN DO POUR A FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER AND ENGINE CARBON REMOVER IN GAS TANK.A BOTTLE OF SEAFOAM WILL DO. SECOND OPTION IF ENGINE KEEP DIESELING.YOU PROBABLY HAVE TO REMOVE HEADS BUY A WIRE USE ON A ELECTRIC DRILL AND CLEAN CARBON OFF VALVES HEAD IN THE HEAD. IF YOU HAVE DIESEL ENGINE FUEL SHUT OFF VALVE MALFUNCTION.

I just got a good answer for this question below but i did clean the carbon ring at the top of the cylinder and carbon on the top of one piston...is that bad?? good morning! i have a 01 cherokee with a 4.0...

That carbon build up is bad!Carbon is what a diamond is made from and pieces of it breaking off will decrease the life of your engine. Also the carbon will heat up and cause premature detonation in the combustion chamber.Just wait till he leaves the garage and clean it off before reassembly.
Take care!

How to find out how many valves a 1999 3.0 V6 Ford Taurus has ? Need to know cause it needs a new starter

The two have nothing to do with each other. You just get a starter for a 99 Taurus with a 3 litre engine.

1994 Sonoma just threw a code 32 EGR Valve do you have a diagram of the motor or can you tell me where it is located?

Your EGR valve is located behind your throttle body and injectors, and it is attached to the intake manifold. It has two bolts on opposite sides of the valve and a vacuum line running out of it. Disconnect the vacuum line, remove the two bolts, and pull off the EGR valve. The EGR's on these trucks tend to get clogged up with carbon and stick. Take some carb and choke cleaner, and a small pick or very small flat head screw driver and break up the carbon inside of the valve. Be careful not to puncture the rubber diaphragm or you EGR will be no good after you get done cleaning it. Once you get all of the carbon deposits out of the EGR, assuming you buy a new gasket for it, put the gasket between the valve and intake manifold, tighten screws, and plug the vacuum line back in. This should solve your problem!
