  • The crankshaft position sensor identifies position of the crankshaft to the ignition control module (ICM), engine control module (ECM) or powertrain control module (PCM)
  • When not replaced, vehicle could experience no- or hard start, long crank time, misfire, lack of power, excessive hydrocarbons in oil, spark plug fouling, catalytic converter failure, poor fuel economy, CEL/MIL illumination or intermittent shutdown.I would say,go for it.

Crankshaft positioning sensor causing truck to not start up properly will idle for 10 seconds then die out any solutions on how to fix problem sensor is not bad

There is a good possibility that your hard starting and poor idle can be contributed Valveto theto the Cold Air Idle Control valve. This valve regulates bypass air and will cause idle and start problems.. It is very important that the temperature sending unit is functioning correctly because it tells the computer what stage of operation the engine is in, controlling all the computer functions and operation of said. Sure you can use old everything but whats the jeporty if it breaks down? Your young daughter walking home late at night? Or your tough guy just going home with all your buddies that just got off too and they'll help you out? Fix it right if you ned to trust it, Or just throw it away when the motorblows from sudden overheating. sure it may run a long time, long as your young daughter isn't left out on the raod at night.

No power in take off from frist gear...Just had trany rebuilt and is still doing the same thing. The o2 sensor has been bad for over 2 years and I never had a problem with the power before. What could be...

First of all, change the o02 sensor so the control mod is not getting mixed signals. How does your cat con check out for free flow?. and last but less likely is the maf sensor. I think its the powertrain controll mododule.. It controls Converter lockup, shift patterns fuel and all sorts of things. Replace the 02 sensor, Disconnect your bat neg for a few minutes and see what happens when you start it up again. Good Luck, Ned
