SOURCE: 2003 Mercury Sable headlight bulb replacement

This problem is now resolved, thanks to a prior post by sableowner.

The 2003 Sable has the same headlight assembly and removal/replacement instructions as the 2001 Sable. Once I had this information in hand, bulb replacement was easy.

Talk to your dealership and/or your vehicle manufacture. However, the dealer - it's parts department - should know because your problem can't be unique - and if they don't know, then the manufacture definitely will know.

SOURCE: Right turn or brake light not working

Questions? Do any of your brake lights work? Including Center Stop? Do your parking/taillights lights work? All your bulbs are multi-filiment bulbs that work through mulitple sources. Knowing which bulbs are doing what under all conditions might help narrow down the problem. Meanwhile, check for continuity between, stoplight switch and multifuntion switch (white wire). Also, check DrkBlue/White from MFSw. to Boby Control module. BE SURE to use a low inpedance tester to protect your modules. The DrkBl/Wh wire is your rigth side input. I may be a good idea while testing these wires to wiggle them to look for intermitent shorts.

SOURCE: Replace 2005 GMC Sierra Daytime Running Lights...

Open the hood, and in the top right and left corners of the primary headlamps you'll see two pins (L shaped) swing them out (towards the front of the truck) and lift out. This allows you to remove the upper headlamp assembly. You can then remove the lower assembly by pushing outwards on the plastic clip that is hooked into a metal clip. Once it's out you just turn the bulb to remove it.

It's much easier if you unhook the leads to the upper assembly's bulbes so you can set the whole thing aside.

Sounds like a bad bulb. The owners manual will give you detailed instructions on fuse or bulb replacement procedures, basically, get to the socket the dead bulb is in, and release locks and unscrew till it falls out...replace w new, reinstall.

are both lamps dead, left and right????????????
yes, fuses. all fuse in both boxes, they are marked head lights.
most cars , not all have 2 fuse. one for each lamp. so both dont die
together, (big danger that)

if one lamp is dead, use a voltmeter, at the lamp
got 12vdc there, HL switch on, then the lamp is burned out.
measure at the socket, connected.

1990 cadillac sedan deville turning signal doesn't

You can get replacement sockets for that at any discount auto parts store in your area. Either cut yours off and take it in or take out the bulb and take a photo or two of the socket and try to match it up. Don't forget to get some way to splice the wires back when you connect the new socket.

2006 ram1500 my left headlight will not work on low, high beams and driving lights are fine

If your vehicle is 4 years old, I would suggest replacing both left and right headlght bulbs. It appears that your low beam filiment in your left light bulb is blown. I am assuming the wiring to the light socket is OK. Your local auto parts store can help you with this and sell you the correct bulb type for your vehicle. The bulbs are accessable behind the light assembly. The socket the bulb sits in can be removed from the rear of the light housing by turning it counter clockwise and pulling out. Replace the bulb. Don't touch the new bulb glass with your hands, but use a clean towel as not to get any oil on the glass. Rinstall bulb into socket and place the socket back on the light housing and turn it until it locks. Hopfully your truck is friendly and you can reach behind the light assembly easy.

Hope this helps.

Left low beam is inoperative. Replaced both bulbs,

I had the same problem with my 2001 Forester. Try this as a low-cost and easy repair attempt: buy brand new fuses and replace both L/H and R/H fuses. If one of your fuses is marginal, your headlights will exhibit this problem. Replacing my headlight fuses with brand new ones solved my situation.
