SOURCE: ba falcon heater
Just had the same thing happen to my BA. No hot air. I'm a bit of a handyman so I had a go myself. 8 Hours is a reasonable estimate. You have to remove the steering column and entire dashboard to get the bugger out. Not a job I would attempt again.

I would replace the blower motor resistor first then see if that corrects this. The resistor is located next to the blower motor under the dash.

There is a motor/actuator in the door that disingages the outside door handle, this generaly needs to be replaced or fixed if your up for it, new replacment actuators are $133 on ebay or a full repair kit for $30
Replacing is easy if you know how to take of the inside trim to your door. When it's off you follow the metal rod going from the outside door handle to the actuator, should be 2 bolts, a plug and the metal rod.
Never fixed one my self so I can't help you there :p Hope you get it working soon, I remember when my rear door stopped working, a little stressfull leaving your car in a parking lot :p
If in doubt get a mechanic to fix it :)
