My 2000 ford taurs engine check light is on with an emmission code p1405 what should i be checking?

Check vacuum lines running to the valve covers the rubber end sometimes get holes and have to be replaced. One on the front and one on the back valve cover. Also check the pvc valve tube running under the throttle body same thing the rubber connector gets a hole in it. One more thing check the gas filler neck when you take off the gas cap look for hair line cracks in the plastic coating thats on the inside at the top its gray in color.

2000 Ford Taurus: With heavy rain, water leaks into cabin filter holder, down air vent, and onto passenger side floor. This just started happening this spring. Are there drain holes somewhere I should...

if you can remove the plastic "cowl" section(s) at the base of the windshield and clear out any debris.sticks,dirt,acorns,mud,etc. THEN run a garden hose where the rain normally would run down and "flush"the drainage paths at each end by each fender. see if that fixes the problem. theres also a possibility that the windshield seal could be bad.

2000 ford taurus gas tank has what appears to be a fitting on the top right rear that has hoses attached. there are stains and gas smell coming from this area. my repair manual mentions a plastic push...

The Evaporative Emission Control System monitors the fuel vapor flow between the engine intake manifold and the EVAP canister. The system failure occurs when a leak or blockage between the intake manifold, the EVAP canister purge valve and the EVAP canister is detected by the PCM.

Code P1443 Possible Causes:

- Pinched, blocked or plugged fuel vapor tubes/hoses (except between fuel tank and EVAP canister)

- Damaged EVAP canister

- Disconnected, cracked or cut fuel vapor tubes/hoses (except between fuel tank and EVAP canister)

- Damaged EVAP canister purge valve

Notes: Check for audible vacuum noise in the engine compartment or significant fuel odor in the engine compartment or near the EVAP canister.

On my '98 4x4, the cannister purge valve is located under the hood, mounted on the driver's side fender.

The EVAP cannister itself is located underneath the truck, in back, between the spare tire and the truck bed (have to remove the spare to get at it).

If it were me I would hold off on replacing parts...I'd drive around some more first, making sure that I don't overfill the gas tank or run it dry and making sure I replace the gas cap properly, etc. If the code returns, then its time to think repairs.

Problem with my 2000 ford taurus water pump.

I just had that same problem with the antifreeze leaking and I thought it was my water pump but I pulled the antifreeze tank off and it was cracked all along the bottom and that was causing the antifreeze to leak out real bad so I went to a nearby junkyard and found a new tank and replaced the cracked one and now it works just fine with no leaks. I hope this works for you liked it worked for me.

Leaking gas tank

Assume you damaged the gas tank. If you broke a line or filler neck this won't work.

Raise vehicle (safely) and clean tank - careful not to spark - NO GRINDING. I use regular sand paper. Find the hole - sometimes takes a bit of looking. If small, here is an old trick: rub the corner of a bar of soap over the leak and if done correctly, it will stop the leak (no, you're not done). Clean the area around the leak a little better - still careful of sparks. Get some epoxy that will stick to metal wet with gas (from AutoZone). Seal the hole with this epoxy and you should be good. Work quickly - the working time of the epoxy is less than they say it is.

good luck.
