SOURCE: How do you replace the ignition switch in a 1999 Ford Explorer?

This is very easy to replace. Had to replace my ignition switch on my 96 ford explorer ... Just went to Auto Zone got the switch, which was cheap and then changed it. Has instructions with it, but there is a tiny hole on the steering wheel column that you need something small to fit in and there is a spot you need to push in there, may have to wiggle around to find it, you will know when you find it and the ignition will pop out and then just pull it out, take the new one line it up and pop it in. Job done. :)

SOURCE: pcv valve :where is it located on a 1999 ford explorer sport 2wd

It is located at the back of the engine near the fire wall. It is gray with a T connector at the top with two hoses coming off of the T and going forward into the intake manifold.

SOURCE: brake lights not working tried new bulbs and fuses

Test your brake-light switch, for power in and power out. If you have your other lamps then the ground is fine.

2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trak. Replaced steering shifter tube and went to start the truck and the key is in the Off position but my dash lights are On?

Numerous connectors in the steering column have to be removed to replace the shifter tube. It's very likely there's a connection issue or possibly a short causing the dash lights to stay on.

Best way to pinpoint the problem is to go through the process of removing the shifter tube, but without removing it. Undo each connector one by one, with the key in the ignition in the OFF position.

As you pull each connector off, the light should go off when/if you've found the problematic wire or connector.

When i changed ignition on '01 ford explorer I had to replace steering column&it wont turn over&the theft light flashes&wont stop. The locksmith said antenna dont match Can i reprogram so it'll start?

The theft light flashes when the is off If it is flashing when the key is on I would think you don't have power in the correct position in the ignition.Check fuses and wiring.

What if the ignition coil is broke

If the coil case is cracked, replace it. Yes, if it is broke, it may be shorting to ground there, causing mis-fire. So buy another coil.

1999 ford explorer want shut off when key is turned off and is taken of key cylinder

there is a rod or rack inside the steering column that pulls back on the ignition switch. the ignition switch is bad or the rod is bent from tilt steering if the wheel is slammed up. on the otherhand the switch may be right inside the colum attatched to the ignition tumbler> either way it is an ignition swithc problem.
