Question about 1998 Buick Century
About 3 months ago the LED was dim. If I pressed on the trip odometer button several times the mileage would show, but only briefly. Now it wont come on at all.
I NEED to sell this car, but have to prove the low mileage, and without the LED thats impossible.
Any CHEAP ideas?? I don't want to put any more money into this car than I have to because I am buying a new one.
Sadly no, there is no fuse or bulb to replace and so no easy, cheap fix since this is an LCD unit that is bad. You either have to send the instrument cluster out for repair or replace the lcd odometer with a new unit from the dealer. You could also obtain one from a salvageyard. Check www.car-parts.com to find a salvaged one which will be your cheapest method of fixing this problem. Let me know how this turns out. Good luck on selling it.
