How to fit a new fuel tank

More fun than you could ever imagine, Henry. Gird yourself, and buy a repair manual to simplify the process. The new one goes on just like the old one comes off, in exact reverse order. If you have total recall, it will be a snap. Get the old one off, and transfer what you need to the new tank. Buy as much new as you can afford, so you never have to do it again. Tag or label all hoses and lines and such, or make notes to simplify putting everything back together, and in the right place. The procedure is quite long and involved, not terribly difficult with the proper tools, but rather frustrating and dirty.

02 rodeo is leaking water from on top of the manifold

I have a '98 rodeo and had a similar problem. I had to remove the manifold to get to the thermostat housing. A rigid coolant line is connected to the thermostat housing on the aft side of the housing. That rigid line is sealed with a little o-ring that had deteriorated. A lot of work for a small o-ring.

AC stoped work after giving the vehicel for garge for painting any idea ?what could be the cause ?

Take a look at the radiator. If there is no paint over-spray on the radiator the paint shop most likely removed it for painting. In the process of radiator removal all the coolant would have been either dumped or recovered. Additionally if the radiator was NOT removed look at the rigid AC lines around the radiator. They may have dinged one with a sander and punched a hole in the line. Usually leaks are easy to find as the tubing will have oil on it where the hole is. IF you find a rigid AC line or fitting anywhere in the engine compartment with what looks like oil on it, that is where the leak is. Other things to look for is the electrical connector for the AC clutch. Make sure that the connectors are connected to the clutch and to the pressure switch on the system expansion tank just behind the radiator. It will have a clear window that the internal hole is about the size of a paper punch dot. On top of that there is a pressure switch that must be connected. Make sure that connector is connected.
My thoughts on what to check.....or what could be the problem.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,

Repair shop said i need a new alternator in my 2002 olds Bravada ($371 installed) I have changed brakes on a vehicle before - could I replace alternator myself? Is it difficult?

It's not that difficult. Loosen the tensioner remove the belt off the altenator remove the bolts and wires from the altenator. you can do it.

Replace catalytic converter

The oxygen sensors are easy to replace which takes a 22mm wrench or a special removal tool. The converters are the problem. These to my knowledge have to be welded on. A local shop usually sells aftermarket which are just as good because these have to meet the same standards. For your accord you should need one converter. If the Accord is a 4 cylin it will take 2 oxygen sensors and 6 cylinder takes 3. Usually there are one sensor at the manifold and one at the converter. I would buy aftermarket sensors. I work at Bosch and operate the line that makes these. These look different than your OEM but are actually the same or better. Aftermarket is about $40, OEM is about $70-110. You can buy the converters online cheap, but buying from a shop you can at least show up there if you have problems. You can replace the sensors after the converters are replaced which takes about 10 min to replace. Good Luck

I want to change my water pump. how do you change it?

  1. The water pump is on the passenger side front of the engine. Drain the coolant.
  2. Keep the belt in place, then I remove the 3 bolts from the pulley to give access to the bolts on the top (it will require a set of metric tools for it).
  3. Remove the passenger side front tire and the splash cover from under the car just above the tire,
  4. Remove all bolts that holds the pump on the lower part of it, then Remove the belt, scraped and clean very well the old gasket.
  5. The new water pump will come with a new gasket.

Work backwords to reinstall everything, good time to replace the coolant and if you have not done yet, replace the thermostat valve along with any hose that may be cracked, rigid or enlarged (check the hoses to the heater core also).

Please check your belts and hoses so you will not have to redo the process again. The 2.2l and the 2.4l engines are configured quite differently. The 2.2l is a rather simple process but the 2.4l should not be attempted by a novice as it involes removing the timing chain.

1996 Audi A6 2.0 fuel line leak

Is the line leaking a metal line or "hose" line. You really should replace the line...USE FLARE NUT wrenches ONLY...!!!!!
A metal line can be spliced using copper line, a flare tool, compression flare fittings,etc.. A good mechanic will be able to help.
Any leaking fuel line should be replaced... ,, USE FLARE NUT wrenches ONLY...
