1999 gmc safari blower motor works perfect but no air comes out of the ac vents only defrost vent works

you have a sucked shut or broken vacuum line under the hood somewhere. mine was burnt and broke, same problem. it is a little, skinny, hard vacuum line from left side of motor over to right across the front.

I have a 94 GMC safari with 295K on it. I let an oil change go a year and thought because it was around town it wouldn't burn much, well I had about a litre of oil left, changed filter and oil and changed...

The loud knock you here is a bering knock.(not good)By letting oil change go so long i would assume you have caused internal damage. And you say your oil pressure is 275 psi should be around 25 to 50 psi .Bering can't last long without oil.

I have a 97 gmc safari. AC control is stuck on defrost. AC runs cold but will not switch from defrost to vents even when changing knob position. Any ideas what could be wrong?

The HVAC system uses engine vacuum to open and close the blend doors. Check for a broken vacuum line in the engine compartment. It will exits the firewall left (passenger side) of center and will be a hard plastic line. With age and exposure to engine compartment temperatures they become brittle and break. It can be repaired with a rubber vacuum line that fits snugly over the line to reconnect them.

SeaFoam in my 94 Cadillac Eldorado. Bad idea!

I doubt the Sea Foam had anything to do with that. I'd check for a vacuum hose off, especially by the PCV valve. Maybe a broken hose or the PCV valve itself might be stuck. Maybe just put a new one in, they are not that spendy. No vacuum would explain the brakes not working.

A/c control for dash

If you only get air blowing from the defrost & foot level vents check & replace the hard plastic vacuum lines under the hood with rubber vacuum line. That will fix your problem
