Your blower resistor may be wearing out or corrosion setting in. The part is cheap and you can probably replace it. This link shows where an 01 is located. Yours may be in the same spot on on the engine bay side of the passenger firewall. Check with your auto parts store also for location.

Ac/heater fan doesn't work

According to my wiring diagram, the blue and white wire from the blower motor gets power from the key switch. The fan switch and resistor grounds the motor.
No blower fuse is listed.

Do you know what a splice in a wiring harness is ? Looking at a wiring diagram for the heater / A/C controller . I see S221 ,may have a break in the wire right there . Look here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info. year , make , model , an engine size . Under system click on HVAC , then under subsystem click on HVAC control's ,then click the search button ,then the first blue link . Scroll down to the thrid diagram. If you had factory service info. you could find the location of that splice .

How do i fix my dashboard lights on my 1986 chevy nova?

Turn the light switch on and check your tail lights. Back then the tail and dash lights work on the same circuit inside the headlight switch so if one was out so was the other. If this is the case you need a new headlight switch. If not, there should be a fuse in your panel marked "instr". that's for the dash lights. Hope this helps.

My break lights do not work at all. 2000 Chevy Lumina- We dont know where to begin to trace the wires we tries tracing them from the rear and couldnt find the right wire. The center light in the window does...

i am CONFUSED? you say they dont work, then you say "when you press down on the brake that the switch for the lights causes them to go off instead of turning them on when messing around with it but couldnt figure this out"........ if NO brake lights work, then check fuse 23. . if the fuse is GOOD then check wires at the brake switch. Orange should have 12V, when brake pedal is pressed then the WHITE should have 12V and lights should be on. the center rmounted stop light (BACK WINDOW) has 2 bulbs, make sure they are good. The center light is wired differently. If the center light works but brake lights do not, the turn signal switch could be bad. I assume THE TURN SIGNALS are OK? IF the turn signals are working OK, the wiring between the turn signal switch and the brake lights is GOOD

My heater has stopped working and ive checked the fuses and its not them what should i try next

Hi,
There is a blower motor resistor , located in the air duct coming from the blower assy. This will have 4/5 wires attached which determine the speed of the motor blower. This will determine the fan speeds depending on the resistor combinations selected. Sometimes the fastest blower speed will work because it has no resistance and gets full voltage.
You can also check the plug going into the fan assy , the plug may have reecieved a knock from a foot and become loose! A circuit tester will be a great help also . Good Luck

The engine fan won't turn off - it's never happened before - don't have the owners manual or I would try to remove a fuse - help please! I guess I'll disconnect the battery for now.

Hi,
The radiator coolant fan switch is the key here, It'll be mounted either on the radiator or a thermostat housing and controls the cooling fan( large brass unit with 2/3 heavy wires ) ! A replacement will be the best money you ever spent, (OVER HEAT JUST ONCE AND IT'S GAME OVER) . Drain the coolant (and save) when cool/cold and replace thermo rad switch , re fill with saved coolant , check for leaks and bring up to normal enging temp and observe fan operation.Good Luck

'97 intrepid.fan relays have short. spent bunches chasing short.

before you do any direct wiring you might want to check that you fan temperature sending unit is working properly. If your problem is a defective fan relay. you can probably pick on up for a little over $20.00.

Check to see if their is power and ground at blower motor with test light. It is located under glove box area.you can make a test light with a tail light bulb and two wires. If no power the fan resister, fan switch, fuse or wiring is bad.
