SOURCE: car wont start put new ignition switch and same prob I have power on acc but not forward no dash lights or starter. i can manually jump starter and checked fuesablb link what is the issue

check your grounding conductor, connection to earth, check for open path or short.... if your grounding point of contact with earth is not super clean and rust free, then it wont start but you will have power on acessory because it uses a different grounding point (batteries main earth connection).
Also, use a meter to check continuity of conductors to and from starter and it will show a short if the OHM reading says "overload", but disconnect battery first to be safe.

2006 Xterra wont crank

Check the battery cable where it connects to the engine block or gearbox. A 'bad earth' can cause the symptoms you describe.

93 grand cherokee wont start put a new starter in and have power everywhere just wont start

Hi, I will try and be of some help to you.
The starter has a big terminal on it , which should be live at all times ( +cable from the battery ).
Then there is a small wire on the small terminal which is what activate`s the starter.
To check this circuit ( please be careful when doing this test )
With the ignition `OFF` use a screw driver to make a contact from the big terminal to the small terminal momentarily.
If the engine turns over, then the problem is the circuit between the starter and the ignition switch
Ihope i have been of some help to you
Happy easter john (south wales uk )

What is the basic process when the car wont start? Battery is good... I know I should check the starter next, but I'm not sure where the starter is or exactly what it looks like...

next.gif getimage.php?imageurl=http%3a%2f%2finfo.rockauto.com%2ftyc%2f1-17415_1.jpg&imagekey=1376808-0&width=450 it looks like this if your car wont turn over is a possibility, that the starter is bad, try to hit the starter motor before you remove ie and triy to start it see what happens, hit it hard, if it starts you need a new starter.the starter is near the transmission underside.

Vauxhall vectra problem

Only way to check out the problem for sure is to drop the gearbox out and examine the clutch. Having gone this far in to the internal workings. It would make best sense to replace the clutch and pressure plates. Oil leaks can be repaired at the same time. No need to go to a main dealer because clutch replacement on a V6 is technically a very similar and no more difficult to replacement on any other Vectra
