SOURCE: no fuel to Cat C 9 engine,

there is a ckaek valve on the back of the cylinder head on fuel return line, they often fail.

Maybe.
It means the alternator is not charging the battery.
The battery could have a dead cell, or the alternator could be faulty, or a wiring problem between the two components.
You would need to have the battery and alternator tested.

Motorhome runs 2 miles down highway then will sputter. I put shifter in neutral then turn ignition off then back on and the engine runs great for another 2 miles and it happens again.


I had this problem, it was water in the gas tank from condensation from sitting .
I had to replace the gas tank which had rusted through, and have a supply of fuel filters to change regularly, I also had to regularly add additive to the tank to absorb moisture ( I think they didn't work).
I surely hope that is not your fix, but it was mine.

Just replaced a battery disconnect solenoid in a 1986 Chevy Tioga, now I have juice to the chassis but not the coach. WILL NOT START!!! wiring disaster, what wires go where

It sounds like it maybe the float in your carburetor check it out as this was a common problem with that model

Need help with dodge tioga 1973 moterhome , trouble starting , medd , batt , starter and alternator , can't get it to start , when it does , it dies and won't start again w/out jumping , has bright light...


It takes a lot more amperage to start a vehicle than to operate the lights, radio, etc. (Just had this problem today with my truck) Is the battery old/been sitting, etc. It may have gone over the hill with enough amps to run lights, etc but not enough power to produce the cold cranking amps you need. My best advise (and cheapest) is to take the battery out of a similar size vehicle/engine, that you know works, and give it a try in your Tioga. Be sure the cold cranking amps of the battery you put in are at least the minimum this Tioga needs. Most of the older motorcoaches had V8s that were fuel hogs in more than one way.

Electrical power system service required.....ABS warning light, generator warning light, brake failure...car stalled and wont't restart


usually caused by failed generator. Fix the generator and other lights will also extinguish. The car should jump start, but will not stay running without a charged battery. Recommend removing the generator and take to parts store for testing. Would you like instructions for removing generator?

I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla and it won't start just clicks.


you definitely need a new battery. replace it, and have the charging system checked when you do. If you do it yourself, use a volt meter to make sure that your battery is holding at least 14 volts when the car is running. anything less, and your alternator is bad. I dont think your alternator would be bad, though. your whole engine and transmission is electronically controlled and runs off of the power generated by the alternator. the battery is primarily there to start the car. without the power generated form the alternator, all of these things start drawing power from the battery. and since the battery cant recharge itself, it will eventually die, and so will your car. so, my guess is your battery just went bad, and your charging system is good. have it checked just to be on the safe side though.

Alternator problem?


check battery voltage with engine off. should be @ 12.5v
check with engine running at about 1500 rpms. It should be @ 14 volts. If yes, it is ok. I think you are ok.

your system is more sophisticated than Sars can handle.

here's how it works.

The charging system consists of a generator which generates current to supply the vehicle electrical system and maintain the battery in a charged condition.
The generator is driven by the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to Section 303-05 . When the engine is started, the generator begins to generate alternating current (AC) which is converted to direct current (DC) internally. The DC current is controlled by the voltage regulator (located on the back of the generator), and then supplied to the battery.
The charging system voltage is controlled by the powertrain control module (PCM). The generator charges the battery and at the same time it supplies all the electrical loads that are required. The battery is more effectively charged with a higher voltage when the battery is cold and a lower voltage when the battery is warm. The PCM is able to adjust the charging voltage according to battery temperature by using a signal from the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor. This means that the voltage setpoint is calculated by the PCM and communicated to the regulator by a communication link.
The PCM simultaneously controls and monitors the output of the generator. When the current consumption is high or the battery is discharged the system is able to increase the idle speed.
To minimize the engine drag when starting the engine, the PCM controls the generator. The generator does not produce any output until the engine has started. The PCM then progressively increases the output of the generator.
The PCM controls the operation of the charging system warning indicator in the instrument cluster. The PCM is therefore responsible for turning the warning indicator off after the engine is started and illuminating it under fault conditions (when the generator is not generating the correct amount of current with the engine running). The warning indicator will also be illuminated by the PCM at key - on engine off and stall conditions.

loud your battery again and see if ti keep running it down--if yes check the battery loading size it suppose to be around 12-13.
less then 9-10 in most cases it's the alternator cause another thing is your battery could be out of work
