2002 acura TL-s engine code p1456

Code P1456: EVAP control system leakage (fuel system).
Probable causes:
1. Wire harness. Check for correct voltage, open, short to ground, short to voltage
2. Control unit software in need of updating
3. Faulty PCM or ECM
4. Vacuum leaks. Damaged hoses or improper routing
5. EVAP system. Check canister, valves, or components. (gas cap excluded because you say you replaced it)

Some or all of the above could be the source of the check engine light problem.

The service engine soon light came on. I went to auto zone and they found trouble code P1456. How do I fix this?

hi, dear friend, this is an obd2 trouble code table. it can help you understand the meaning of code.
The best way to fix a P1456 error (small evap. leak) on your Nissan is to have a "smoke machine" test done on it. This machine is hooked up to your car and pushes smoke throught the evap. system. The smoke will shoot out of the leak and indicate its precise location. You can also try getting a new gas cap and make sure that it clicks 3 times when you close it after filling your tank. Also, NEVER leave your car running when your fueling up as this can cause your "service engine soon" light to come on. The best choice however is doing the smoke test as this will elimiate any guess as to the location of the leak. Nissan dealers can perform this smoke machine test for you for about $90.00 and can save you alot of money by pin-pointing the leak so you don't keep buying parts you don't need.

The check engine light on my 2004 nissan pathfinder keeps going on. I have had it fixed once for $500. What could be the problem and how can I avoid another costly repair?

Try taking off your gas cap and installing it again. This can do the trick sometimes. If not you will have to go purchase a reader and see what code it comes up with.

On March 25th I sent my Nissan Pathfinder into a shop to fix a check engine light. The code that came up was P1456-Vapor canister Check Valve. They fixed it. Then April 3rd the check engine light came on...

this is common with heaters they dont last forever aslong as they are willing to show you the different codes at different times there problay being honest dont be suprised if they suggest replaceing all the o2 sensors at once its actually cheaper on diagnostics time and the all should be replaced for the vehicle to run 100 percent on a scan tool you can tell the difference between old and new o2 sensors by the way they react especialy the heaters i hope this helps Thunderboltz

Check engine light on 40,000 miles nissan pathfinder 2006

You must scan the Engine Control Module and collect fault codes before it can be determined why your engine controller turned the light on.

2004 Nissan Frontier Service Engine Soon light came on

P0321 Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Range/Performance. P1456 Leak Detected In EVAP Control System. Sounds like a vaccuum leak somewhere. I would clear these codes out and see if they come back first. Then if they do I would check to see if you have a vacuum line loose or broken off. If they codes stay off it would be ok to keep driving the truck, but if they came back I would definately get it looked at.

SIncerely,
