All that is needed here is to turn the ignition switch on and off several times, Then go ahead and try starting the engine. If no start, repeat the on off procedure again. This should prime fuel injectors

Ran out of gas. got gas, splashed a little gas in the carb? (air inductor) looks like a carb under the doghouse. now, won't start, wants to but won't keep running. 1994 dodge primetime van.

Replace fuel filter. when you ran out of fuel you picked up water in the bottom of the tank. Turn the ignition switch on and off several times to prime the injectors before trying to start. The water in the tank may have damaged the fuel pump. Do not damage the starter. If it does not start right away, riding the starter is not going to help matters. Investigate the fuel problem.

Ran out of gas, prime the fuel injectors

No priming needed

When you turn the key on, if
the fuel pump comes on, you get fuel

Any air goes into the cylinders

You probably ruined the pump running
out of fuel or it is just old & worn out

12ht wont prime

filling the filters before installing will make priming go more quickly.
once the pump is primed crack open the fuse line at the injector while cranking until you have fuel pulsing out, close it then move on to the next injector.
keep doing this until the engine runs smoothly.
it may start running before all the injectors have been purged so keep clear of all moving parts and a fire extinguisher handy would be a good idea.

Ran out of gas yesterdya and wont start today.

If you ran out of gas, then you will need to perform the following. Turn the key to the on position (do not start). Turn key off. Repeat the process a few more times. Also, have someone help you, for when you turn the key to on, you should be able to hear the fuel pump hum. After a few times, try starting the vehicle. Air has gotten trapped in the fuel injectors. By turning the key a few times, it primes the injectors. If it still will not start, or you cannot hear the fuel pump, then have it checked out. Hope that works. Let me know.

Where is my fuel pump at? on a 1995 chevy camero 3.4 yes ran the car out of gas put so in wont start now what should i do first

Your fuel pump is in the tank. Turn on the ignition, and listen if you can hear the pump run in the tank. It will only run a few seconds if the engine is not running. You can repeat this several times to prime the fuel injection.

96 Jeep cherokee ran out of gas, re-fuel, won't start. No spark.

You may have to prime the fuel pump. Or replace the fuel pump if that does not work. Why do you let it run out of gas? This is definately not good for an injected motor. It will continue to cause more and more problems. Fuel injectors should never run dry.

Ran out of gas now car dont stay on

If you ran the tank dry you've lost pressure between the pump and the injectors. You'll need to prime the fuel pump.
