Have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the spark plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure, also, check fuel injector pulse.
Check for applicable trouble codes?
I can only help with testing, you have to do the testing.

You need to check for spark at more than one cylinder. I didn't realize you had replaced engine, my bad, could be all kinds of problems? I don't know model year?

I'm not sure of engine litre size? You have voltage at fuse boxes, use a test light. Some fuses are hot all the time, some go hot with the key on. Good grounds for all systems including the computer?

My 93 Altima will not start. I did the self diagnostic and got code 55?? It started a few weeks ago ran great for the weekend, got it to work and would not crank to go home.

Josh, Code 55 for your Altima simply means no faults were found/no malfunction. Do you mean car would not crank(engine not turning over) or did you mean engine will crank, but not start. I will post troubleshooting links to both conditions below. If not comfortable, have a good Technician look at it, diagnose and estimate repair.

I have a 2005 nissan altima se 3.5 i have replaced the ecm the cam sensor and the the box by the battery and it still won't crank it will turn over but thats all what could be wrong.

Is it "crank no start"? Or "no crank"? What is the diagnostic results? Tell us DTCs please. And don't forget if you replace ECM you will have to learn immobiliser, otherwise it wont start.

Won,t start after sitting for a short time, but will start fine when cold

Does it crank, yet not start? Or does it not even crank?
If it cranks and doesn't start, you could have a leaky fuel injector. Pull the plugs when this happens, and check them for fuel saturation.

If it doesn't even crank, it could be an intermittent starter.

CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR 20002 NISSAN ALTIMA

1st, Nissan had a recall on Crank position sensors for 2002-2006 Altima's. Check with you dealer before you go doing any repairs. You may discover you can get your car repaired at no charge.
NHTSA Campaign ID number :O7V527000
Symptom: Erratic behavior. Stalling and no starts and very difficult to diagnose due to the time frame in which the component actually malfunctions. The warranty should not be limited to the original owner.
I would also need more specifics as to which engine you have so I might assist you in where the location of the sensor is. The Altima had a 4 and a 6 cyl engine offered that year.
