Check if the roll is in the right position, untight the bolt and move it back and forvard a little and pull the belt gently at the same time,if you are lucky it might come loose.

WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT A LOCKED SEAT BELT?

Hi Im presuming by locked you mean it will not move so you can strap yourself in
There are 3 ways to deal with this
1 buy new replacement and fit
2 buy second hand from a scrapers yard and fit
3 strip the casing cover off the seat belt and carefully release the belt trigger that has got stuck you will need to release this first
No amount of pulling on the belt will help, the teeth have to be removed manually from the belt first before you can pull the belt down abit
Put some lubricant on the the teeth trigger down at the bottom usually on the floor of the car on the inside with a case cover over it, this should loosen the mechanism but ifits still too stiff rusty or damaged then you can look at other methods, hope this helps

My passenger side seat belt on my 2000 ford taurus se is locked and i cant retract it. how do i fix this problem with buying a new seat belt retractor

of course it possible to access this retractor , you just need to locate the small round circles in the lower part of trim and gently pry the covers off , screws will be evedent , you will need a 6 mm star (five sided) drive socket wrench to remove the retractor though

Pt cruiser stuck middle seat belt

The problem:
The set belt stop has been lost so the seat belt retracts too far when the seat is laid flat. When laid flat the release mechanism lock as it should when not level. So the seat cannot be raised up as the belt is too tight and locked.
The Solution:
1) Push the two little clips to release and remove the headrests.
Pull the grey lever on the right of the seat base, lift seat base up and forward toward the front seat..
2) See two red capped leversat the back of the two seat hinges and lever them to the upward position, this releases the seat.
Rock the very heavy seat unit upwards and lift complete unit upwards.
3) Take it out of the car and turn 180% so that the back of the seat and base are in the upward position and the seat belt will pull out as it should
4) Replace the missing belt locking stop (I used a tie pin permanently fixed using super glue).
5) Fold seat back down and test then either re-fit seat unit or leave out to decrease fuel consumption..

How to fix a 2001 vectra seat release

You can try to pull on the belt with the plastic trim piece removed the take a flat tipped screwdriver the release the arm or bar holding the belt in the lock position. Most of these have a spring on them. That spring can fall out. Or sometimes the bar or lock arm may be jammed and needs to be pried loose then lubricated to prevent this from repeating in the future.

How can I un-stick a stuck seat belt. It worked fine last time we used it and does not seem to be twisted. 2001 chevy blazer

If it is stuck in the seat belt clip (meaning its buckled) then that model year had a seat belt buckle recall for failure. If its stuck in the seatbelt retractor and your seatbelt retractor is floor mounted there is a release pin on the ratchet gear. TO access it you will need to remove the plastic cover located at the floorboard next to the door on the side of the car that is stuck. If its a seat mounted retractor this means the retractor mechanism is located within the seat frame. You will need to view the bottom of the seat of the belt and see the anchor point. Seatbelts must be anchored to frame of car. Trace it into the seat back. If its located in the back of the seat you will need to remove the seat cover to the extent to reach the mechanism. This can be located at the bottom of the seat.. but more than likely is located at the shoulder area. The Seat cover (fabric) is removeable via clips located at the base and tucked into the seat (think hidden bra/pant clip style connectors or zipper) If you have leather seats it is a bit more detailed and more difficult to manage the seat covers. Typically your local Chevrolet dealer mechanic can get this done in 10 minutes (based one experience) and quite possibly wont charge you or charge you minimally. The downside to this is if its locked that means the same gear that locks it in an accident was frozen in place somehow and this typically indicates a dirty dirty spring or broken spring mechanism. The locking pin operates on centrifugal force and activates based on speed by which the seat belt is pulled out. (just a bit of knowledge) Good luck

Seat belt tighten on bumpy road on 2008 altima.

most seat belts work on a centrifical ratchet.if you pull slow it will extend, if you yank it will lock. when you hit a hard bump you sink into the seat and your seat belt takes up the slack but as you rise withe seat it happens quickly engaging the lock . as this happens over and over the belt gets tighter.

You'll need to take the housing cover off the seat belt, from there you should be able to access the tension switch on the seat belt. It sounds like it may be set too high...

Rear seat down and wont go back up; locked middle belt

middle seat belt shouldn't have anything to do with it. The seat locks down for stowage in the rear cargo area. you can pull the release handle on the back of the seat to release it back into the up position.
