Tail pipe smokes alot

This means your valve seals, piston rings, etc. are worn and you need an engine rebuild. The smoke will stop once the engine is rebuilt, as long as it is done correctly.

Car smokes on start up then clears

You need to change the valve seals as they are letting oil seep through & lay on top of the pistons so it will smoke on start up until all excess oil is burnt off the pistons. Hope this helps!

White smoke is burnt coolant. Take the car in and have a pressure test done on the rad. It's probably going to lose pressure slowly so get a compression test done on the engine. This will most likely show a leaky head gasket. That is the most common cause of white smoke out the tail pipe and could also cause your other symptoms. Hope this helps.

02 highlander 4cyl I park it for 2 days when I go to start it smoke blows out the tail pipe after 30 sec or so no more smoke what is the problem ?

Depending on the color of the smoke.....

Blue smoke = Burnt oil (Valve steam oilseals)
To fix you need them replaced can be done without removing the head.

Black smoke = Too much fuel (Running rich)
Tune-up replace air filter.

If its a turbo it could be the seals in the turbo but i doubt it as it stops smoking.
Hope this helps , Please rate me as feedback does help.

Tick In motor every few seconds after intake gasket changed

Sounds like when they did the intake,They drained the fluids but forgot to fill them back up and since the oil was near empty,I would say it's a lifter. But they can be reprimed or replaced a whole lot easier than some other possible causes.

Have you used the correct grade of oil for the engines mileage? If you add a can of Wynns Smoke Stop that will thicken it a bit and help to stop/reduce the emissions.
