check vacum lines for leaks in the headlight assembly, sometimes they dry rot,the vacum lines] it has to a vacum issue. you may need to replace the vacum lines with new vacum hose. you can but it by the foot at any parts store, but you'll need to carry a peice of old one to get exact size.trace the vacum lines from headlights to the source of vacum canister, just to be sure that the canister itself isn't leaking. look for cracks in the vacum lines along the way.if you find that the canister is cracked,it can be repaired by jb weld and repainted, just to keep it original.thank you for choosing fixya.com

Whats the easiest way to get to my rodor button?

Your rotorbutton is under the distributor cap and it needs to come off. You should see 2 screws on the side of the cap, use a screwdriver andpush down and turn them 1/4 turn, lift the cap. DON'T pull the wires off the cap unless you mark them so you can put them back in their exact location. DON'T turn the distributor unless you mark it's exact location with the motor. You may have to wiggle to get the cap off with the wires on but it will save you a lot of grief.
If you want to get to the rotor button to change it you should do the cap at the same time. In that case you can transfer the wires to make removal of the old cap easier BUT make sure you have the new cap lined up exactly in the same position as the old one before you do. Hope this helps.

The tensioner pulley on my 1997 Cherolet Cavalier Z24 will not move so I can replace my serpentine belt. The old belt wore off while driving.

You will have to replace your serpentine belt tensioner. Call local auto parts store and ask them if you can get just the pully or if you have to by the whole tensioner. Call around and don't be surprised if you can't get what you need from your local auto parts store because some do not carry after market belt tensionrs. In this case you will need to order it from a GM dealership's parts department.

How do you change the car battery on a 2002 lexus es300

This is a simple procedure, but acid is involved. Wear old clothes and latex gloves and safety glasses.
The battery is visible under the hood. Disconnect the RED positive cable first, often with a 10mm wrench, gently turning the nut counter clockwise.. Hold the cable clamp with a latex gloved hand while doing so and do not twist the wrench unless the clamp is secure or you could snap a battery post. BE Cautious not to touch your wrench to any other metal during the procedure.Next remove the negative cable, same way.
Match the battery with a new one , same dimension, EXACT same terminal locations.
You will generally want a battery with a minimum of 500 CCA rating, this is Cold Cranking Amps. Installation is reverse of removal, clean clamps first with tooth brush, baking soda and water .
Be safe wash your hands and wear goggles or SAFETY GLASSES just in case. ACID will burn your skin and clothes if you tip or spill or break the battery. Dispose of the old one at your battery store. Carry in a rubber bin.
